Oh, mate, I am so sorry to hear this as I had no idea that you had this bladder leakage problem.
So what was the last procedure you had done TP??
As the thread is about the Rezum treatment/procedure, I suppose we had better get back on that track shortly. ATB.
Hi X
Because I have a urethral stricture the scar keeps hardening which makes it difficult to pee.
So he has to go in and stretch it so I can pee freely again.
This procedure costs me around 150,000 including a 2 night stay in hospital.
Coming up to the anniversary of my last intervention I can still pee freely but I get a constant pain.
I have pleaded with him to do a uroplasty operation but he says my stricture is not the right kind to perform it on.
So I just have to hope month by month that I can still keep peeing
I have to put up with the pain, but thankfully it's not as bad as when I needed morphine to control it, now I can get by with one Ultracet on the days it's bad.
Talk about bad luck for both if us!!
Good luck buddy

Well then you are obviously well acquainted with this Dr/urologist, and yes he is good, however as it happens TP, he couldn't do anything for me as regards getting the bladder to start working again, because the nerves don't seem to be functioning inside it, and these are required to operate to get the whole system to work in unison.
I have no feeling that my bladder is full or a need to pass water, apart from a "full" feeling somewhere in my lower stomach when it needs emptying, so it's left up to me to decide when and if I pay a visit to a toilet, which is why I take great satisfaction in being able to use a catheter at night before I go to bed, because I know I'm going to get a good nights sleep with an empty bladder!
I would dearly love to get the whole lot working again, and was investigating something akin to a little pacemaker (InterStim) which is fitted under the skin and connected by thin wires to the nerves which can stimulate them to get the bladder to empty, however this does involve surgery, and my local urologist here despite seeming keen to try that at one time, is now not so keen at all for some reason?
So buddy, I'm in limbo land at the moment and although I did look at rezum and others, it's not the prostate which is playing up, otherwise I would have it done.
I hope your situation is improving since we last made contact – – all the very best you TP.
I'm sorry to hear this buddy.
You and I certainly seem to be on a constant treadmill with our discomfort and pain.
I find that I have urethral pain almost every day and there really isn't anything to be done.
Charispong rings me once a month just to check up on me but he really doesn't offer any practical advice on how to deal with the constant bladder leakage which requires me to still be wearing diapers 11 months after the last procedure he carried out on me.
So it looks like we are in this together long term.
Good luck buddy, talk again soon.

Thanks a lot Sheryl

She has been to the Thai run hospital where I believe they gave her too much of the wrong medication that has contributed to her current sorry state.
Hundreds of people there when we have been, Doctors are under severe pressure.
Two or three years ago, we shan't return

There is a government pysch hospital but she is likely to just get short doctor visit and anti-depressant medication there rather than the type of counseling you have in mind (bear in mind that this is nto really a Thai "thing" and Thais do not always take well to the concept) https://www.suanprung.go.th/index2559/e_service.php
This place is Christian-run (but not evangelizing and has a couple of Thai counselors on staff https://www.ccfthailand.org/staff/
This place is fairly new, I have no feedback on it but it has Thai counselors who look well qualifiedhttps://counsellingthailand.com/native-english-and-thai-speaking-therapists-in-thailand/
Thanks a lot Sheryl

There are councilors in the Mental Health Department of Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai. I'm surprised the doctor prescribing the medication for the OP's wife isn't already engaging in 1 on 1 therapy.
Hi Nancy
We have been under BK Hospital physiologists and neurologists for 2 years now but her symptoms are just getting worse.
She gets 20 minutes of 1 to 1 counseling once a month and lots of drugs that I believe do not interact with each other well according to my research
Her current doctor said he would get outside counseling for her and would call with a name, but he never did.
This is why I am looking for outside help now

My wife has unfortunately developed Physcomotor Retardation.
It's a horrible thing and medication is not working.
She has been attending Bangkok Hospital here for some time to receive medication , but this is not working.
I think she needs 1 to 1 therapy to help her deal with this depressive disorder.
Can anyone recommend a decent councilor that she can see on a regular basis in CM?
Many thanks

Update: I received my WrLife premium quote for my 2nd year after a big claim during my first year.
Policy increase: 3%.
That's very good Jerry
Did they pay the hospital directly?
I need some good news about WR.
I would like to take out a policy with them but am a bit skeptical as they are so cheap and pay up for ore existing conditions.
I have many
Cheers

Sorry to hear about your troubles, although I can sympathise because I have been down a similar route over the years, and it's now got to the stage where I can't pass any water, so self catheterisation is both my saviour and my concern.
I did go to Bumrungrad hospital to see what they could do but despite the urologist being top-notch, and doing all of the tests he could, the outcome was that the nerves in my bladder had stopped working, and there appeared to be no solution to it (well there is one, but that's another story).
Whilst I was at Bumrungrad I did see that they were advertising the Rezum treatment and had all the equipment there to carry it out, so maybe that would be your first port of call, especially as they have your medical records there.
This would have been about three months ago or more, so perhaps worth giving it a try??
What urologist did you see at Bumrungrad buddy?

Bangkok Airways are very accommodating so I can't imagine it will be an issue
However if it was Air Asia .....?

I would think twice about purchasing a Chinese car.
Most things made there fall apart before other items made in other countries
So why not cars?
Just sayin'

I think people that have purchased Chinese cars will live to regret it
Most things made in China fall apart, they are known for poor quality and cheap prices so why not with cars as well?

The one we hired seems very competent is Thai, smart about 50 years old.
We only need new 3 days a week, she really wants full time.
So if there is anyone else out there who wants a maid 3 or 4 days a week just let me know and I will pass on her contact details to you. We will share her
She is doing Mon Weds Fri with us, so the other days are available

Used to be fish and chips for 150 baht on Friday not so long ago

I believe John's Place was used as a location for Denzil Washington's movie
American Gangster in 2008/9
Looked weird with all the early 70's cars and tuk tuks whizzing by outside in the film, not to mention the strangely dressed people

Got one now thanks????

We are looking for a maid in the Mae Hia area.
If anybody can send me a pm with details I would be eternally grateful.
My wife has been ill and is unable to do household chores, I have my hands full in the garden so having to do housework too is quite stressful
. 450 to 500 baht a day depending on experience. 2 days a week, but only one if that's all they can fit in . It's really hard to find a maid these days!! Pretty desperate right now.
Does not have to be Thai can be Burmese but must be able to iron.
Many thanks in advance

I used Rajavej when I lived in Chiang Mai, the woman dentist who is the head of the clinic is very good, speaks good English. The other doctors were for minor illnesses.
I come down from Chiang Rai every six months for a check cystoscopy at Bangkok Hospital, Dr. Wittawat Rawiyotai is the urologist. Very professional. Unlike many doctors here, he doesn't mind being questioned. 18,000 baht for the cystoscopy, which IMO is quite reasonable.
How are you now?

I saw it
Dont have credit though
At least some people check the website before complaining
Flown AA 10 times no problems.
I've flown AA 100 times with no problems..but they canceled my flight , getting a refund was impossible so a credit note was the best on offer.
Now they make it almost impossible to claim that credit note against another flight. I have spent hours on websites trying to arrange another flight and at least 20 emails before I got a credit note.
The most hopeless airline in Asia I really hope they go bust.
I will never use them again if I can't get this sorted with them.
I had an issue with Bangkok Air I double paid for luggage, the problem was sorted immediately and a refund hit my nank account within 24 hours.
A proper airline!!
You should be thankful you have not experienced these types of issues with AA

I have been prescribed Fentynal while in Bangkok Hospital but I did not find it any stronger than morphine.
I rejected it after one patch after looking it up I found that it killed the musician Tom Petty who had access to it just as he was preparing for his final tour, he overdosed on it.
RIP Tom....another Travelling Wilbury death.

I had no idea that Baclofen could be used in this way!
I have been prescribed it for stomach pain, and was told not to drink until my symptoms are better.
Though I did wonder, being a daily drinker why I found temptation very easy to resist.
For people that need it in Chiang Mai then Dara Pharmacy , nearly opposite McCormick Hospital have it and it's not dear, although I am unsure of the exact price
