Australian boy, 13, spent six weeks in solitary confinement
simple1 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Solitary confinement is now viewed as a form of torture due to the emotional wellbeing impact and slowly being banned in Western countries. There is no excuse to put a child in solitary confinement. It is a smear on the Australian judicial system, IMO those responsible should be fired. Claiming PC in Australian prisons is utter <deleted>. -
I have Stage 4 Prostate Cancer. Will likely be undergoing chemo in the next few months. with prognosis of extending life for another few years before the end of life process. I am not in fear of death and have a leaning towards spirituality (based upon Vedanta) as opposed to abrahamic religion/s. I had bought a house in Pattaya for wife and I to retire, but cannot afford to live in Thailand because of cost of ongoing medical care / medicines. When I have died wife will move back to our house in Thailand to enjoy her Oz pension and extended family.

Daivobet ointment applied twice a day for four weeks. Psoriasis may reappear.

It would be illegal to import painkiller meds, unavailable in Thailand, from India.

Thanks for reply, very useful info. Your PM must have been made after I posted query on the open forum. Again thanks for your guidance - best wishes…

HMG is copying the Australian "Pacific Solution" for asylum seeker boat arrivals, which also contravenes the UN Convention for Refugees to which both countries are signatories. However, there is not an enforcement / penalty mechanism for breach of the Convention. it would be interesting to have the data for asylum seeker arrivals by air and immediately claim refugee status who are accepted for processing. Again kindly note I have Stage 4 prostate cancer. I had the operation you suggest at the same time I underwent radical prostatectomy. Hormone treatment usually only works to suppress the prostate cancer cell spread for some years. Once hormone treatment ceases to be sufficient one can progress to chemo. Chemo is effective for approx 18 / 24 months. One then progresses to the likes of Enzolutamide and eventually end of life, if not deceased from other causes.

I am stage 4 prostate cancer. I have had a radical prostatectomy, but the cancer had already spread. Lucrin is utilised to suppress testosterone, but eventually usually will also require chemo to extend life exspectancy, as is my case..

I may need to return to Thailand for economic reasons. I have Stage 4 Prostate Cancer and due to commence chemo sometime in the coming six months in addition to ongoing Lucrin injection every three months, A few years after chemo likely to require Enzalutamide tablets until end of life. Anyone able to indicate current approx cost of chemo for prostate cancer, Lucrin injections Enzalutamide and quarterly PSA tests, ideally in Pattaya area. Thanks for your feedback.

Why would EU authorise UK rejoining a Dublin Regulation agreement? Brexit was a strategic error based upon lies and misinformation. You guys are flogging a dead horse.
-
So what! HMG has withdrawn from EU, so why bother dragging up past stats regards Dublin Regulation.
-
Perhaps you can explain why HMG has not enacted legislation to address the situation. Wasn't one of the primary reasons given for Brexit HMG can easily address such issues. e.g. Germany has been successful with rejecting West Balkan asylum seekers.

Buddhist abbot’s visit to Islamic school sparks uproar
simple1 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Regards Thailand obviously incorrect. Thai government has practised attempted forced assimilation of ethnic Malays since 1909; for your reading... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anglo-Siamese_Treaty_of_1909 -
Buddhist abbot’s visit to Islamic school sparks uproar

I suggest it would be a good idea for you to back up your claims with credible links as per forum rules. It is contrary to forum rules to post defamation / inflammatory content. The author is a professional Thai Army Officer who was attending a Strategic Studies course sponsored by the Australian military. He has held a number of very senior positions such as Military Adviser to the Permanent Mission of Thailand to United Nations. are you claiming all Officers serving in senior roles are sympathisers to Islamist terror, which, BTW, is not the motivation for the deep South conflict. Given the author's resume he is a credible source, you are not. https://www.linkedin.com/in/senior-col-chumphot-nurakkate-78350841?original_referer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F I suggest you read the following... https://sydney.thaiembassy.org/en/content/muslims-in-thailand-under-royal-benevolence -

The paper was written by a Thai Army Officer, it is not propaganda. However, if you wish to remain ignorant, your choice. -

Why is a Buddhist preaching nationalism, it runs counter to Buddhist philosophy. Secondly I suggest you do some research on the deep South conflict before posting again. The link below will assist with your education. https://defence.gov.au/ADC/Publications/documents/Shedden/2012/SheddenPapers12_120306_ConflictinThailand_Nurakkate.pdf -
Subcapsular orchiectomy is perhaps a better method, which was the path my surgeon used. However, neither methods cure prostate cancer if it is advanced stage prostate cancer at the time of surgery. https://www.healthlinkbc.ca/health-topics/orchiectomy-prostate-cancer#:~:text=An orchiectomy is done to,the front of the scrotum.

It is incorrect to state hormone treatment for prostate cancer has no side effects. As an example potential side effects from Lucrin... https://www.pcfa.org.au/awareness/further-detailed-information/commonly-used-drugs-in-treatment-of-prostate-cancer/lucrin/ Naturally side effects vary from person to person. In my case Lucrin contributes to weight gain (i.e. male breasts) and constant constipation.

OK. I had the surgery seven years ago, don't recall being told robotic surgery was available as a public patient, only as a private patient. I do recall, even with insurance, gap fee for robotic surgery was AUD20,000.

Here in Australia prostate cancer in the number three cancer cause for death in men, At time of diagnosis I had Gleason Score of 4+5. During the decision making process I was provided a booklet which talked to stats on treatment outcomes, stages of prostate cancer etc. You can download similar info from prostate cancer orgs in UK, USA and so on. I decided to have non robotic prostatectomy surgery Robotic surgery not available from public medicare. The decision to proceed to surgery was made as Urologist informed me he had a number of patients who had declined surgery due to possible impotence which they later regretted as they faced the consequences. Wishing you the best...

OP I had a PSA test in Thailand which claimed to show no presence of PSA. A few months later I had returned to Australia and out of curiosity had another PSA test - I had no symptoms. Cut a long story short I was diagnosed with advanced aggressive prostate cancer. Given the result of your Pirads test I would not hesitate to follow up with a reputable oncologist. It is claimed surgery is the 'golden' treatment. Regards the possibility of impotent and/or incontinency, would you prefer death from prostate cancer? From my story I suffered from inability to pass urine after surgery which was very stressful, but resolved after four months, but I am impotent - personally I prefer my current status to death - each to their own.
