If you take the bus from Ekkamai to Ban Phe, you can buy the ferry tickets together with your bus ticket.
These are real tickets too. And no hassles at the pier.

Avoid White Sands, 700 baht for a bungalow which should cost 70 baht.

Best pizza I ate in BKK was at Luigi's in Sukhumvit 25.

You can sort by Agony

When you like ruins, see them both and beware that there is an entrance fee for foreigners that 10 times higher than what Thais pay.
You make it sound like visiting historical sites is too expensive for foreigners.
Last time in Lopburi my girlfriend paid 10 baht and I paid 50 baht.
Yes, I paid 5 times more, but still, it is a lot less than what you pay anywhere else in the world to visit something historical.

Tablet + Android + Wi-fi = a darn good combination
I would be interested in knowing some brands or suppliers and get some specifications.

I was stopped by the police while riding a motorbike in Buriram.
My passport was in Bangkok.
Showed the officer my ID from Belgium and he made no problems out of it and let me go without a fine or a "tip".
As long as you have an offical ID card, you shouldn't have any problem.

I read that a visa at the embassy costs 810 baht.

I am planning a trip with my Thai girlfriend to Bagan in Myanmar next October.
I know I need a visa for this, but my girlfriend says she doesn't need one.
I can't find any information about visas for Thai people travelling to Myanmar.
Hoping anyone can shed some light on this matter.

I have the hair of an australian, the face of a syrian and the chin of an italian.
Or so I am led to believe.
Nobody ever guesses where I am from.
That is the advantage of speaking some languages fluently without any accents :-)

Ask to talk to the manager, he's a short american guy. He'll cut you a deal.
He did for me

Only thing I've come across is california Wow at esplanade.
Why not going there?
I go there and it's a real quality gym.
Don't get caught up in the whole personal trainer thing, you don't need that.

I visited 3 years ago - well worth the slog up the steps to get the views of Cambodia and Laos.
How can you see Laos from there?
You can see all the way over Thailand?

Opened an account at Kasikorn in 10 minutes, only asked for my passport and I gave them 1000 baht to put in the account.
Siam Commercial asked for a WP.
But apparently it all depends on the branch.
Although Kasikorn doesn't have any problem with opening accounts for farang who are just on a holiday.
Gotta love K-Bank

They are very useful where I live in BKK.
It's a bunch of small sois and two cars passing eachother always get stuck.
At least here the tuk-tuks get you somewhere faster than a car.
Also, once you go outside the touristic areas, the drivers aren't that bad.
They just want to take you from point A to B like a taxi driver.
Nobody is being ripped off here.

Today at the desk of AirBerlin they told me I would not be charged for an overstay. If they do charge me, I will send the receipt to AirBerlin and ask for compensation.

Isn't this what Americans always do? Get involved where not needed.
I remember some places like Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan (2x), Iraq, covert in South America.
It's in their genes, they can't seem to help it.

Not true.
Last hotel I checked in I realised my passport was still in BKK.
Gave them my national ID card and paid cash.
No questions asked.
Had a nice stay.

I arrived here last year with a tourist visa and no return ticket.
The guy at the immigration counter said nothing at all.
Stamped my passport and gave it back.
As long as you don't overstay any stamps it's no issue.
You can for instance arrive in BKK with a one way ticket and then travel over land to god knows where and take a return flight home in that place.
Apparently the people on TV don't travel a lot.

Take the BTS to On Nut and you are already out of the Sukhumvit traffic.
Will save you a lot of money.

Anyone in his twenties calling himself a polyglot better prove he is up to it.
I myself am in my twenties and speak and write four languages fluently.
My way of learning Thai is talking to people, I don't use any books.
Reading and writing will come when my speaking is at a sufficient level.
In my opinion, if you know how to say hello and how are you in any language, you don't know the language.
Languages are about a lot more than this. Apparently some people don't understand this and go bragging they speak 40 languages and can even learn a new one every three months.
I think this whole mission of our Irish friend shows a lot of disrespect towards linguists who take their jobs seriously.

Since when is 7/11 a decent foodstore?
If you want a nice beach, quiet surroundings and everything on your list you should try Rayong.
But better brush up on your Thai first.

I was lucky enough everything fit in a taxi.
Taxi driver is a friend of my girlfriend and he was very happy with the 500 baht I gave him.
He only loaded everything in the taxi and at the destination he unloaded everything.
Mostly because I was unable to untangle the puzzle he created in his taxi

This morning I saw 5 buses of soldiers armed with machine guns in Din Daeng.
They will protect the farang for sure :-)
