  1. To give the OP another example as to why not to trust the sound in Youtube videos.

I heard this exhaust in real life today and trust me, the video doesn't do it any justice.

Maybe a good idea for the OP to actually come outside and enjoy motorbikes, instead of being on the internet the whole day.

Be a road warrior, not a keyboard warrior.

  2. Saw one today at K-speed, looks pretty good.

    If I had to choose between a CBR250 and a Z250, i would go for the Z.

It will even make people forget about the ninja 250.

This is a very sexy bike. They need to make one in the mid-class range :-)

  3. I should have replied to this a long time ago.

The OP bases the sound of the new 500 on a youtube video.

Ever thought that the sound could be distorted because of the camera's microphone?

Have you actually heard the engine of a 500 in real life?

I admit, it is not a Harley, but it is far from that of a scooter.

If you really believe so, could you tell me, which scooter you have in mind, so I can make a comparing test.

    And yes, I have a CB500F.

  4. The Honda MSX125 is not only popular in Thailand, in some countries in Europe it's predicted that it will outsell the MSX128... which was the name of a standardized, somewhat popular, home computer in the '80s and early '90s. Yes, mid '80s you even had a Yamaha MSX128 and I did a lot of motocross on it without leaving my room...

There is no Chinese bike that can compete with the MSX, so you come up with this load of cr*p?

  5. Took the CBR to Hua Hin on Sunday, back to BKK today, did around 600km and 125-130km/h (top speed with brother on) all the way back.

It ha impressed me, cool little 150.

    Your brave

Did you drive straight to Hua Hin or did you take the side streets with the twisties? (Mua). I'm not sure of the name of the road

Which do you mean? That map looks like Petchkasem Road in Hua Hin or did you mean Pala-U road?

I went from my home (20minutes north of honda big wing in bkk, near safari world) to Rama 2 road and it took about 1 hour 20 because bikes can't use motorway which sucks!

Then I went from Rama 2 to Hua Hin on Petchkasem Road (route 4) through Samut Sakhon / Samut Songkhram / Ratchaburi / Phetchaburi / Cha-Am and finally Hua Hin without stopping. I mostly drove in middle, the fast lanes / the mini motorway which bikes and trucks are not allowed but people do anyway and I was passing all cars in the middle lane, but stayed out of the outside lane because I couldn't overtake easy at 120km/h lol. Took about 2 hours from rama 2 on the way there and 1hr 30 on way back, I didn't let it drop below 100 - 110km/h on the way back the whole time and it was pretty fun.

The trip can only be done safely in the daylight though, that road has deadly pot holes and there is a few nasty bends you don't wanna hit at high speed that you're not fimilar with. I was doing a few tests and because it was 2 up, I would only change to 6th at like 105km/h, and 5th at around 90, which worked fine, plenty of power at high revs and you need that engine to scream to be able to brake safely. The brakes are worthless below like 7k rpm, takes you all year to drop speed but if you don't ride the clutch when you brake and cycle through gears at high rpm it will stop pretty quickly.

I had a great time and would do it again, would love to do it on a CBR 500 and see what kinda time I can get, it's a shame I live far in NE BKK and not SW. The trip to rama 2 always sucks balls.

    Your 150 has six gears?

  6. I have never been asked for my license.

They should ask you, but they rather just take your money and don't give a flying <deleted> when you have an accident.

There should be a system put in place that links your insurance policy with your driver's license.

So if you don't have one, they can't sell you insurance.

Of course you could take your wife's or girlfriend's license, but if you have an accident later on, then it was your own choice to do something fraudulent.

  7. Thanks DiNiro

That is the first half way decent review I have seen.

But... it is a bit sad isn't it?

I mean the majority of what is available to regular folks

here all get described basically with a bit of a yawn.

Like how he described the R chassis..."Nothing Much To Shout About"

More utilitarian than anything else. Built as they say to satisfy

    the beginners market basically

Economically & marketing wise I guess it is to be expected.

But as many have said before it is a bit sad that the big 4 have really kind of

given up on building anything exciting to someone with experience but enjoys a smaller

higher revving engine that invokes a bit of passion.

Would be easier to take if we did not have a history of such bikes being build-able/sell-able

Mai Bpen Rai is all we can say & as others have basically said better than nothing or what they had here

    a few years ago.

Z1000 or Fireblade not good enough?

  8. The waiting list in BigWing BKK for the CBR 500R doesn't seem so long. http://www.aphonda.co.th/hondabigwing/home.ashx#news-details-honda-bigwing-waiting-list-Update.ashx

not sure I would like them to make my name public like that

    It's just the first name.

They managed to put the first piece of my last name on there.

Had to call them to make sure it was really me.

    And it was

    Saturday that 500 is mine

Are you 18 on the list for the black?

I'm 21 for the white and BigWing hasn't called me yet.

I am 128 on the list for the black CB500F.

My girlfriend called to confirm in Thai.

All the bikes on that published list are ready to be picked up smile.png

theres over 300 bikes on that list,i dont think the big wing bkk could even hold that many at once

last batch i saw there looked to be about 30 bikes ,

and we have not had a call from them yet (#40) so i doubt there are 300 bikes waiting there

I am number 128 on the list.

So after my girlfriend called them two days ago to confirm, which they did, I also called them myself just now, and guess what, they confirmed again.

I will be there on Saturday morning, riding out on my brand new CB500F.

If anyone is in doubt, just call them 02-7903999, they speak Thai and English.
