I even saw a price of 472,000 baht, maybe that is the non-ABS and 550K is the ABS/DCT version.
-
I called Triumph in Bangkok who were amazing. Who puts a non English speaking person in charge of sales enquiries for bikes that start at almost half a million Bhat. Astounding .
You would be surprised at how many Thais can actually afford this.

I had a Shark Speed-R before, really comfortable and good wind noise reduction.
Now I have an HJC, excellent value for money and wonderful ventilation, never gets too hot when riding.

Just get a new seat, can't be that expensive.
I got a new rider seat at Honda for my CB500 and it was 1020 baht.
Happy for you that you think nothing of spending that much. Not all as lucky ( no doubt I'll be getting hassle from all the baht millionaires now telling me I can't afford to live in Thailand, as if back home is cheaper- it's not. My pension doesn't even pay the rent now that things have got so expensive ).
If you can't afford to spend 1000 baht per month on extras, maybe you should sell the bike or give it a complete rat look.

Well, next time I will take a photo of the empty aisle.
They only had some abrasive discs in the shop, no cutting discs, looks like the staff are too lazy to take them out of the warehouse and put them in the shop.
Don't you think I would have bought them then and there when they were there instead of opening a thread here and looking like a blind donkey?
Never mind, I went to Hardware House on Bangna - Trad and that place is heaven, they also have a lot more choices than HomePro or Thai Watsadu, I know where I am going for my next hardware shopping. Looks to be cheaper too.
-
I'm surprised you couldn't find them in HomePro, maybe just out of stock.
I went to HomePro at MegaBangna and to HomePro Plus in Ploenchit.
Neither of them has them.
-
I just bought several from Klong Tom in China Town.
Ok, thanks.
How much were they? Which brand? Decent quality?
-
Where can I find metal cutting discs for my angle grinder?
I can only find abrasive discs and stone cutting discs.
I already tried Homepro and Thai Watsadu in Bangkok.
I have a Black&Decker 100mm angle grinder.

Looks like the ThaiVisa doomsday patrol arrived in this thread.

Do you get shot at every day?
Do you fall off your bike every day?
I ride every day, so the chances of falling off are there.
You have a bigger chance of winning the lottery than getting shot in Thailand.
This ain't south central LA.

Each to their own. I believe, what you pay for a helmet indicates the worth of what it's protecting ( your brain).
thats silly
so if i dont own a 30,000+ baht helmet, i must not value my brains?
i dont go around wearing bulletproof vest everyday, but that doesnt mean i dont value my heart and internal organs
do you believe that people who skydive dont value their lives?
everyone is comfortable with a different level of risk... it doesnt mean they dont care about themselves.
Do you get shot at every day?

This looks like a bad case of som nam na.
If he was on the back of a motorbike taxi, he would never get these multiple injuries including a broken back, broken left shoulder, punctured lung, a bleed in the brain, cracked ribs and nerve damage to his left forearm.
Looks like he was a pillion on something pretty fast, probably with an inexperienced rider, what happened to him? no mention of him in the article.
Was he wearing a helmet? What protective gear was he wearing?
I can just imagine how this all went down, see too many of these guys down at the beach.

Have you considered Royal Enfield, still made in India and soon as far as I am told in the UK again, nice retro 500cc, and a very good price
Good luck buying one in Thailand.

According to the add here on ThaiVisa, his number is 081 919 8570.

You could just have some Index stickers made up and cover the expensive brand logos.
Some sources say stickers are bad for helmets.
someone actually stole my shitty 200b index helmet off my bike!!!!!!
after that, i just said screw helmets and stopped wearing them... .its WAY too hot driving around town to wear a helmet for me anyway
90% of my driving is just cruising 1-2km within pattaya, so i just dont wear one
if i was going to start doing some highway driving or long rides out of town, id get a good quality fullface helmet..... and a simple helmet lock that can go through a section of the bike and through the visor opening.
I had my last accident 50 meters from my condo.
I wish you good luck, sir.

He is still there.
-
Depends on what bike you have, but I bought a bicycle lock and put that through my handlebars and my helmet, pretty secure.
Of course if your bike has clip-ons instead of handlebars, this won't work.

Park it at the Pra Kanong police station at BTS On Nut.
Should be safe enough.
-
Still waiting on a price reduction of the Duke 690.
-
Traffic police is paid by the royal household, so maybe they also pay for the bikes.
-
Has anyone ever seen one in Thailand?
-
I don't think you should be worried, I think the police can spot the difference between a boy racer on his modified wave or a gentleman enjoying a cruise on a classic vespa.

All you need is a certified translation of your current home country license and you can get a thai license, no need to do the theory or practical tests.
No need for an international license.
lol... you sure about that?
that would mean 1000s of other foreigners are taking tests and waiting in lines for no reason
Do you really think 1000s of foreigners have a driver's license here?
Yes, I do. There are nearly 100,000 Japanese alone who are living and working here in Thailand and most of them have cars and drive here.
Maybe they just got their home license converted too, no need to do the exams then.
Stallions 400cc - Any good?

Sales girl at BITEC motorshow told me it won't be over 150,000.
