  1. They are in the wrong.

Also, never go to the police station they propose, they probably know the cops there and you'll get screwed over, you should go to the nearest police station where the incident happened.

But if you were both going in the same direction, you were in the right, they should wait for a clear path to make a turn.

Also, them driving without insurance is also not legal.

  2. Yeah, you must have a work permit to buy a vehicule in your name.

Totally not true, I bought my current bike while I was on a tourist visa. It is in my name, always has been.

You do need to have a work permit to finance a bike in your own name.

The hangup seems to be with getting the res cert from the local imm. office. You should be able to get a res cert with a copy of your rental agreement/contract, but TIT

No idea what one can do about an office that makes up it's own rules.

Well, the yamaha dealer ask me to bring my work permit when I will get my bike (MT-07). And he knows I will pay cash so it's not for finance.

He is misinformed, as shocking as that may seem here in LOS

The dealer needs it to register the bike. Work permit also states your address. Will be just as fine with a residency cert, but keep in mind, a residency cert is only valid for 30 days.

  3. ^ "many naked sport bikes"?? So what are they, especially in the 300K price range? Also the tank isn't plastic. It's got plastic covers.

i see many people complain about plastic tanks.... why?

metal tank is more weight up high, and gets hot.... i dont see the advantage to a metal tank... can someone educate me why you would want metal over plastic?

    Because plastic melts.

  4. The fine is 1 baht per month.

No it is not. Last year our bike was over due about 20 days and we we charged 20 baht. As Stoneyboy states it is 1 Baht per day.

    Then you got scammed.

I was 2 months late and got fined 2 baht, this also gets printed in your green book.

  5. Anyway I have some minor issues with my bike:

    - in idle the headlight and turning indicator is very dim. I replaced the battery but still same problem

    - once you reach 7000 rpm or around 80 kph it gets quite rough from vibrations of the whole bike. Is that normal? I thought of looking for a modified gearbox with a longer 5th gear

I had the same headlight problem, I think it was a general issue, as long as you are on the throttle, the light runs fine smile.png

I didn't have that kind of vibrations, easy to cruise at 100 km/h or more without any strange vibrations.

    I had a GTO Speedster.
