you cannot trust another man with your children. he might act one way in public and another at home. i don't know your particular situation but a Thai woman having children with a farang that she can't take care of sounds very bad. my wife is inseparable from our child and it really makes me think lowly of women who do not care for their children.

there are a couple of massage parlors that i frequent that are touristy and there will often be a farang girl getting a foot massage or waiting to be served in the lobby of the parlor, often with her farang boyfriend next to her. i am friendly with some of the girls in these traditional massage places and will often come in and tell the boss which i girl i want or i might point out a specific girl if i am unfamiliar with the girls available (usually the prettiest girl). whenever i do this, the farang girls instantly become very interested and will not take their eyes off of me. it usually feels like they are burning a hole through me. they will just glare non-stop until i make it up the stairs of the parlor. i am not sure what to think about this. anyone else experienced this?

I read somewhere that when you make a comparison between the number of Chinese studying engineering and other science degrees is so staggeringly high compared to the number of US citizens. It does not take are rocket scientist to figure out what that implies. Soon, there will be so much more Chinese scientists doing research and development projects. Thai culture make it hard for people to have others children as their own. My Thai wife and I were thinking about adapting a Thai child and we were advice against by the agency saying when they grow up they will look for their natural parents and live the adapted ones.

It really means they only have loyalties to the blood parents. It also true that when you have a Thai wife (may husband) the mother, brother, sisters, sometime cousins come first before the husband or wife (is the culture)

There are MANY Thai women who fall into this category. They are educated and not happy with the selection of Thai men who are in their league. They are not pretty enough or not from a good enough family to get the type of man that they think they deserve and are not willing to settle. I really wonder what ends up happening to them?

Its a global economy. In the past, Thailand was a foot into Southeast Asia. Now its just another very small economy.

In the past, Thailand was given free passes on some of their flaws because of the things they could offer. Now, those offerings are much smaller so they get called out more on their flaws.

I don't think Thai people themselves are at all concerned about human rights in their country, so its no surprise their government isn't either.

Its called a Third World Nation, as in, inferior to first world nations. How about another Coup!

The truth is very simple. Thailand has not be doing anything the USA wants it to do. Thailand has no motivation to do what the USA wants it to do. There is no economic benefit to Thailand to increase human rights or sanction Myanmar. The things that the Thai-USA relationship were based on are no longer relevant. We have increased USA-VIETNAM/LAOS/KHMER relationships. Communism is no longer important. Thailand has no desire to stop doing business with Myanmar.

Honestly, Thailand could fall off the face of the face of the earth and the international landscape would hardly be effected. The leaders of Thailand know this and there goal is to simply enrich themselves. Thailand is looked upon as just another third world country with revolving door governments and endless corruption. Thailand does not care at all how it is viewed in the outside world. The country has been a pseudo make believe democracy with an endless amount of military interaction in politics and there is no hope whatsoever of Thailand turning into a first world nation.

Just make sure you are financially capable of going home if you have to. try to have atleast a million baht in the bank capital before coming here. that is absolute minimum.
