  1. This is all well and good for those with sufficient income 65000 or 800000 in the bank, unfortunately my mates can due neither but want to live out their lives here, so have no choice.

Understood, but that way they could get almost 15 months before having to go home and getting another O Visa without requiring proof of income or saving.

But that is assuming they can afford the regular trips,a Years ticket(which is,a believe the maximum allowed)is about £200 more than a a normal return flight from the UK.

    Also there's the combination method,mixed income(gross)and saving's totalling 800,000.

I've friends the same, almost trapped in poverty at home,a real shame.

  2. I'm left handed as was my Mother, she was forced to write with her right hand by the Nuns in Ireland. Actually tiring her left hand behind her back!,she was totally ambidextrous and great at maths and English.

She could even write with both hands at the same time.

So it didn't affect her,but still not a very nice school time.

I was allowed to use my left hand at school in England.

Wish some of her brains had rubbed off on me ;-)

  3. I believe you can get points up to 6 months(possibly longer?)from the date you flew. If you flew with Thai and/or EVA,both are in the Star Alliance,as is JET and you can combine the points with them.

There's also One World(BA etc) and SKYTEAM(Air France and KLM etc)you can Google them for a list of members. I'm not a member and I only know the outline, hopefully someone can help.

    Regards

    "as is JET"

Sorry, but Jet Airways (of India) is NOT a Star-Alliance member, you are probably thinking of Air India, who joined them recently ? wai2.gif

But Etihad did buy a 25%-share of Jet Airways last year, Etihad-Guest members can earn miles on Jet flights, and Jet-Privilege members earn miles on Etihad flights.

Ah,yes. I did get confused, should have Googled it myself! ;-).

    Cheers

  5. I used to work for a Ford Main Dealer and have owed many Fords and still have one in the UK,but not here.

Good product but too many horror stories about poor customer service and warranty issues, I even inquired about Mr Spoonmans Ranger.

After researching I brought a boring but hopefully reliable Toyota Vigo and so far had excellent service, shame Ford can't get their act together in Thailand.

How many potential customers have been lost just reading about the problems on TV?.

Great looking truck, but I'm not taking a chance.

Glad the OP got it sorted, but not without calling in the Big Guns

  6. Nice pics LL2 ! thanks.

The Triumph Street Triple are looking awesome! and super tempting at 420K with 106BHP!

edit: And it's 30Kg lighter than the CB500F

believe me, you dont want to get cheaper street triple over street triple r for 40 k thb.

street triple r has 4 piston calipers - street triple has two piston calipers, adjustable suspensions - street triple ones are not fully adjustable- at both ends plus 'r' has screen and belly pan and a couple of extra cosmetics.

r offers much more better value for that extra 40 k thb.

and r is at 183 kg wet so only 9 kg lighter than cb500f still r holds 17.3 liters of petrol!

i m so tempted on street triple r, still thinking if i book one or not.

delivery is in April though for all triumph bikes with price reduction. they said they can only sell the new bikes they will make here for the new prices, not the old stock.

And who on Earth will buy one at the old price?,unless they are very desperate for a Triumph now! Or very Rich

  7. unbelievable! after 23 years in Thailand suffering either crushingly expensive or limited choice of proper bikes, it's finally opened up over the last couple of years - and literally the month i leave - my all time favourite brand TRIUMPH start selling their long made-in-thailand bikes at sensible money.

the only consolation is that i've already bought the pictured speed triple to arrive home to wink.png, hehehehe....

happy biking to all new thai triumph owners!

Nice bike,I've got my old(1994) Trident to go back too.

Fancy something new and shiny, with warranty etc.

  8. I expected the Tiger XRx to be nearer 550k so i think it's a lot of bike for the (suggested) money

Condorman where did you get this info from?

Yes I agree if Cman's quote is correct, only 20.000 more than a T-100 Black and you get so much more bike in the Tiger 800.

I guess the T-100 will have to wait untill I turn 60 in 8 years time and by then there will be many 2nd hand bikes around, win win.

I don't like the entry level Bonneville so much, it just looks wrong to me.

Agreed,I'm 55 now. Not sure which model to get, love a Thruxton for shortish rides,T100 for a more relaxed ride,a Tiger for touring and these crappy roads.

I've passed these new prices onto a few friends, hopefully they will bite as well.

Wish I had the money for all 3 :-(

Looks like the Thruxton would have sharper steering, but what else would it offer over the T100?
The Thruxton would offer my bad back, more pain!. But might be worth it ;-)

  10. Am not a biker but can confirm the price reductions. Was at their factory last Monday doing some work and they told me they will launch at the Impact show this weekend. I do remember seeing a Tiger with a price tag of under 500,000. Wish i took some pictures now.

We'll be put out of our misery and waiting on Sat,it sounds like it will be good.

Just how good???,break open those piggy banks chaps :-)

  11. I saw a beautiful Triumph the other day. Brand new. Looked like a cafe style. I don't know the models, but it was very, very nice.

He probably just paid 750,000bt. Poor bastard.

Yep,could be a few pissed off Triumph owners soon and that sounds like a Thruxton, agreed. Cracking looking bike

I believe I read that Ducati refunded some tax money back?. When a similar situation occurred
