  1. Tuning forks.

    L[/quote

Not quite, but not the largest. Seems too work fine and hasn't bottomed out yet. :-)

    C'mon man.

    LOL= laughing out loud

    L=laughing\unspecified.

Yama labeled Givi box, 30liter looks.

Good idea with pillion for security, backrest.

    Have same; 3 bikes mounted,

    (Nouvo, ceeber, crossdresser)

now sharing two of these boxes.

One got destroyed in cycle v. cycle MVA

    ha ha.

    er, L[/quote

My local Yamaha dealer got the Lifan rack modified with a Yammy rack,so I can fit it to her Sparky if I want. Be nice to buy another fitting plate and brackets, but Yamaha said, they only come with the box, shame.

  2. Had a 68 BSA Thunderbolt. God I thought it was fast.

Didn't even need to drive thru water - drive close to water and it would quit.

Old joke at the time - Why do Brits drink warm beer ? 'Cause they have Lucas refridgerators.

Similar to,why is drinking Watneys like making Love in a Punt?. Because its F***ing near water! ;-).

Back to the topic,my Bonnie was fine in the wet(apart from the front disc didn't work!,lucky it had a rear drum),but my Honda 400/4 was useless. Forward facing coils and almost impossible to cure, also a Suzuki I had,not great etc.

So not all British bikes are bad or leak oil,and all Jap bikes are not the greatest. The T100c I just brought doesn't leak oil(yet ;-) ) and it's 45 years old!,nor did my Bonnie or my Trident

  3. I may put a Harley Davidson stickers on mine, just to confuse a few people on this forum...biggrin.png

Is there still room for a passenger with the Givvy box on?..... you could get 3 kids in that?

Yes,we both fitted fine. As I previously posted,it takes 2 open faced helmets or 1 full face helmet and it's the quick release model. Looks larger in the photo than it really is.

I am only interested in how many Snickers bars will fit in.licklips.gif
Harley did a 250?,re-badged thing in the 70,s. Unless I'm going potty(please no comments) ;-)

  5. Agree with all the points raised. Wish I still had my '81 T140E.

    +1

Wish I had my 1975 T140V,got a Hinckley model now in the UK,which is fine. But just not the same feeling

Just brought this as a rolling restoration,1970 T100c.

Looks better in the photo than real life, chrome and paintwork etc need work. Its had a lot of new parts recently(yes, the exhausts are wrong but stainless),nearly 2,000K drive to get it,but I'm happy(the Missus isn't! ;-) )

  6. I went to a shop that the had them parked side-by-side and I sat on both. The Yamaha has more leg room.

Thanks for the fast reply! Can't wait to see one in person. This looks like the exact bike I've been waiting for. Perfect for the tall farang. Can get a factory top box too!

I just had a 30L Givi topbox fitted on my bike for 1800B from Yamaha, its the quick release model and it can take 1 full face or 2 open faced helmets.

Or 6 bottles of Singha,2 bottles of wine,2L of milk and still have room for some stuff called food.

  7. I think the swingarm runs a round steel bar , in a sleeve. No bearings. Maybe grease nipples can be fitted.

Yes they can, there was someone who modified his after it had dried out and fitted grease nipples.

I think he toured Laos etc,and in fact when I took my Cross-dresser to the Lifan dealer,he recommended to change the links as the wear out. Mine are ok,but if/when I change them,I'll add nipples or maybe sooner. About 500B to change them.

  8. I good tip to get decent prices for basically anything is,clean your cookies and history. They know when you keep looking at their website and the programme will slowly increase the price,no cookies and you're new customer etc.

It doesn't work all of the time, but a lot.

  9. Way cheaper but that was only a special offer for october right?

Double checked today at Yamaha Square Kanchanaburi and she is selling the GT125 at 43,000,with 5 year warranty and free Labour on servicing(just pay for oil and any parts) for life.

This price is for the foreseeable future, she doesn't know what other dealers are doing.

  10. Do they still sell poppies at the cemetery? If so I hope to drive there on Monday, if not I will most likely go pay my respects anyway.

Not sure, but One more bar about 1/2 mile on the right on the back road(opposite a small Tescos),towards the Bridge has them and bands.

Rob the owner supports the Poppy Appeal and supplies the food etc on the 11th,top bloke.

  11. Way cheaper but that was only a special offer for october right?

Just asked Yamaha Square in Kanchanaburi and 43,500B,still the same price as last month.

Thats the standard price, here anyway.

Its a good price indeed, I thought it was a limited offer. I dont read thai but maybe some clarification on this picture?

    550-01%284%29.jpg

It's says opening price across Thailand until the end of October, but I asked the owner of Yamaha Square yesterday and she said its still the same price.

I thought she said 43,500,but maybe it was 43,000. Didn't really look that closely as they were closing. I'll try and confirm tomorrow.

  12. Can somebody confirm, with something besides what somebody said to somebody at CW, that SETV, double-entry and triple-entry tourist visas will all be discontinued after13 NOV in conjunction with the new METV? When I first heard about the METV, I sort of suspected this was actually the real agenda, but as of late last month at least two Honorary Consulates I know of had absolutely no awareness of the discontinuation of the old TV options, just the new METV. (Of course triple-entries have been getting harder & harder to get in recent years, and in some places even the double-entry hasn't been possible.)

Not a huge deal for me one way or the other. Just wondering if there's anything official.

From what I've see in here and in the UK Thai Embassy site, you can still get the Single tourist visa after the 13th,but not the double or triple. I use the double from the UK,but not now
