Did it have a name or only in Thai? Associated with Grand Hill Lanna perhaps?
Would that make about 14 courses within 1 hour of Chiangmai?
Yes, that is one big complex now. Direct access from Grand Hill Lanna to Golf Course (without name). Same owner.
I have a Pool House FOR SALE there !!
Don't sell it cheap!

Not a golfer myself, but that sounds a better development in that area than another housing project

I wish all the cycling shops would relocate next door to each other. Would save a lot of driving all over town....

No homebrew in Thailand?

You want to get physical, you'd be leaving the area within the day, that's if you were not hospitalized, ask your GF to explain that Farangs are different and they will probably understand.
Forget the macho act.
Balls, I had a neighbour repeatedly come on my land, in the end I got a machete and waved it at him whilst running over my land to confront him.................never saw him again.
Of course you did.....
Give 'em an inch, they'll steal a mile. Tried being friendly with similar types. Doesn't work.

Picked up 700 bht bedsheets at Tesco. Plain colour. Reasonable thread count. No complaints. It's usually dark when I use them....

If folk calling ain't in my "phonebook", I don't bother answering....

Just remembered it's called Kaiserdom and has about 3 different varieties. Dark and unfiltered are pretty good.
Big C Xtra stock it. 4 varieties @195 bht.

I think we were all excited about the Immigration opening
at Promanada,it was going to be easier, could find parking,
etc, etc,at the moment its a right mess, with money the most
important factor it seems.

It is a shopping mall, temple to capitalism

This is a good news story. Sorry, but exploitation of endangered animals is wrong. The mahout got his just deserts for using his skills in an unethical manner. The Chinese family deserved to be frightened, for engaging in an activity which exploits the endangered animals and funds their further exploitation. I wish this story would just scare away other tourists, so this industry eventually disappears.
And what do you suggest they do with all the elephants?

My local mom n pop store just got 10 cases in (dated july), so stocks must still be around. My fav beer. Try the Cheers Extra ( red cans). Tastes ok,

They don't seem willing to keep passports for next-day pickup. Don't know about having someone besides an agent or spouse picking up a passport for you.
If you don't wait round all day, are they going to chuck it in the bin, cancel your extension, or hand it to you next day? People have other things to do....

Hang the towel on the door knob. Works for me

I think the way things are that anyone on a retirement visa who is also married to a Thai National should seriously consider changing to a marriage extension. Ok; there are some differences in the paperwork etc and a few photo's needed but now the old office is nowhere near as crowded it is a lot simpler to get things done there.
Weren't immigrtion "encouraging" married retirees to go the "retired" extension way?
That's what I did.

Best bit is above the temple to Sang Ku chedi at the top. Less traffic, cleaner air, cooler temperatures. Way too much exhaust fumes lower down.
-
What if you don't hang around until your passport is signed off? Can you just show up the next day at your choice of time & collect?
-
I had an appointment for yesterday at 13.30 for Marriage Extension. Arrived 13.00, checked in at counter and was called at 13.32, paperwork complete in 28 minutes and passport back with receipt in another 10.
Very efficient service with a smile and the old office only had about 35 people in total. Also noted was now three officers processing Marriage Extensions instead of the usual two, which moves things along a lot faster. Didn't appear to be any shortage of staff.
Perhaps one would be so kind and cycle over to Promenda to assist with retirees....

Awesome nearly 6 pages on the great Chang debate. Most people know the majority, if not all, Thai beer is shit house. Leo is OK. Best beer in the region hands down is Beer Lao. Red Horse is a Phillo's special and a heady drop. This debate seems to be mostly about alcohol content and price though really nothing to do with the quality of the beer. As for those that recommend Cheers or Archa... what the <deleted>??? If some of you sops are so concerned about price and percentage of piss why not just go native and start smashing the lao kao into you. Problem solved. Cheers.
I thought it was about the demise of the 2 decent beers that Chang makes - Export & Draught, both lower alcohol content.
Btw, Leo tastes like the homebrew I made 30 years ago or more, when I was a student....

Get rid of the super dark tint on windows, so you can be seen by other drivers, & can see where you're going at night
-
Is this just for 3.2 engines? No similar issues with 2.2?
-
Drive more carefully, with a bit more attention to what's going on around you, & the number one cause of stress might decrease!
-
Is the "new" Chang out yet? My local Mom n Pop store only has the regular old classic. The nearest 7-11 only has Leo, Singha & Heineken. Are they waiting for all old stock to be drunk before releasing the new "wonder beer"? Not been to Makro or Tesco recently...

Best avoided before the bombing in BKK

I wouldn't drink Chang even if it wasn't loaded up with additives that give you a splitting headache (the "Chang-over") in the morning. They managed to sour the deal with their then-partner Carlsberg over 10 years ago, driving another decent-ish beer out of the country.
The "Export" version of Chang tastes totally different to the domestic version. I wonder why.?
Export was 100% malt beer. Classic is malt + rice.
Probably "cleaner", too.

I was at Prom for shopping at 3.30pm today. Maybe 3 or 4 people waiting outside immigration.
