  1. There is a topic in the Health forum which I think it would be better to post in as this is a national issue. It is good there are topics pointing to this in all local forums however will help people most if there is one main topic.

    http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/671391-affordable-health-insurance/

But how many people read the health forum? I only found that thread because I was redirected from another post. Also I thought pinned topics can be added to by members, as is the case with the smog thread. This is a very important subject & needs to be at the top of the page. Also agree about deleting off topic posts.

    dd

Agree it is important. Agree it should be pinned. Agree it should point to the main topic. Believe it should contain the ldescription and the link only and be locked THe general rule is one subject one topic. Otherwise information has to b e reposted 40 times.

Agree too, but this is Chiang Mai & I'm only interested in CM hospitals.

  3. Isn't Thailand noisy enough?

No problem. It can be classified as "farang noise." Sounds good...reminds us of Home.

It's just the noises made by Thais and their animals that irritate us.

A petrol mower (lower frequency?) reminds me of home. A leaf blower is up there in annoyances with folk who use a petrol strimmer at full throttle to cut a lawn, rather than buy a lawn mower to do the job in a fraction of the time. facepalm.gif

  4. Yes, well worth passing on. A great reply, stating the obvious and letting the people that would probably never go there anyway know that their opinions aren't important. There are restaurants to fit all budgets in Chieng Mai so moaning about ones you can't afford or consider to be too expensive is futile. He knows what he's doing and is more than capable of getting it right every time.

He basically said, you run your mouth and I'll run my business. He may have been a bit blunt about it, but under the circumstances that's understandable. Nothing wrong with speaking your mind, and we're all adults here.

I wonder why he advertises here? I know I wouldn't.

A ''bit blunt''? Nothing understandable at all to reply as he did...totally unprofessional and downright disgusting...i and i figure many others have now vowed never to eat at any of his establishments again...

Was it a "Gerald Ratner moment"?

  5. I recently bought a German produced map of Chiang Mai. It obviously knew something I'd not heard of, as it clearly showed all the stations for the monorail.

Just 2 stops from Kad Suan Keow to Warawot market.

People do have legs you know. One stop at Chang Puak, second stop near Thapae gate? Sounds reasonable, assuming folk can take their motorbikes on the trams laugh.png.pagespeed.ce.SDkxrRteka.png

  6. I call bull ! Fake picture !

Note there's NO finger pointing ! Also no photo of her passport, or complete address of where she (allegedly) was staying !

I also note that they made NO reference to trying to find this (alleged) partner of hers ! And only 5 police officers in the pic ? Where's the pics of the re-enactment ?

    Just terrible.

Thailand - new hub of credit/ATM card scammers, where people from China, Estonia, the UK, Bulgaria Germany and Turkey (and no doubt many others) come to ply their trade !

and one can't make out whether she has big or small boobs dry.png

What's she hiding up her sleeves?

  7. Well, 10 out of 10 for perseverence, but if I wanted to eat out, the last place I would go would be a shopping mall. Why not try a real restaurant located in its own property?

I like the fact that it's easy to park there, with the rain it's nice to have the covered parking.

I'll bite, which real restaurant would you go to? With parking for a car 9as it's usually pouring the motor bike is a bit risky) that is.

The city & surrounding areas are full of them. Buy an umbrella to walk from the car? Plenty of restaurants provide staff with umbrellas.

I suppose you are right, buy an umbrella and walk, there in would be the problem, I may be just a little lazy....

Get your quotes sorted out. MESmith is certainly not lazy when it comes to walking thumbsup.gif

  8. The haze is most likely from all the evaporated recent rain. I'll let you know when the burning commences in earnest.....

Very kind but I think we will probably know.

Definitely a few extra fires around the Samoeng canal road are towards San Patong.

But many folk living here are in denial or unaware of a problem blink.png

  10. White Elephant comes to my mind on Promenada Mall....wai2.gif

Let us speak more on this "White Elephant" or is it "White Cow"??? LOL 5555

    I have tried the following restaurants there;

Mix: Enjoyed the food and ambiance, yet the place was very hot, like the air conditioning was not working very well and it was kind of hot...

Rimping: Well I told you the story of the oyster bar, but I went for more and tried the Sushi bar, this time I went earlier, food was good, but what is up with the billing situation and them standing by your table until you pay it, I almost told them to keep the food, but as I said it was good!

Wine Connection: The place was empty, again, but it has some potential for sure, could use more Champagne, what they have for a selection is very limited, had the cheese plate and 2 bottles of sparkling Rose, not bad and Pat the waiter spoke great English. I was told a story by there staff that the Promenada Security locks the washrooms up at 21:00 and their customers have no place to relieve themselves, bizarre or that? Wow blink.png

Fuji: Chain Japanese food, same as everywhere, yet air conditioning barely works and it's way to HOT!
