An Iranian DJ has asked Pattaya police to investigate the alleged theft of his laptop and DJ equipment, saying the loss has left him unable to work in his usual profession.
The 30-year-old man, identified as Siamark, filed the complaint at Mueang Pattaya Police Station on September 30. He told officers that a man he knew had taken a bag containing his computer and DJ gear.
CCTV said to show man leaving with bag
Siamark said he left the bag at the DJ booth of a karaoke bar at about 6pm on September 21. He later asked the man to take it back to his dormitory.
However, when he arrived home and prepared to leave for work, Siamark said the bag and its contents were missing. He returned to the karaoke bar to ask staff whether they had seen it, but they reportedly had no information.

He then reviewed the venue's CCTV recordings, which he said showed the man picking up the bag and leaving the bar at 7.27pm.
The bag contained a DDJ-400 mixer and a Sony laptop, with the equipment valued at about 28,000 baht in total.
DJ says he has switched to Bolt work
Siamark said he contacted the man after the alleged theft. According to the DJ, the man promised to return the belongings, but the equipment had still not been returned when he went to police.
He described the laptop and mixer as essential tools for his work as a DJ. Without them, he said he could not continue in the job and had applied to work as a rider via the Bolt application while the matter is investigated, even if it was probably an illegal profession.
Police are investigating the complaint and trying to establish the identity of the accused man. They have not confirmed whether the man has been called in for questioning.
