Lat Phrao fire death toll rises to 38

A further person has died following the fire at the entertainment venue on Lat Phrao Road in Bangkok's Chatuchak district, taking the confirmed death toll to 38.

The latest update, issued on 12 August 2026, said 13 people remain in hospital after the blaze. Seven are being treated in intensive care and six are in general wards.

The Erawan Centre, operated by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's Medical Service Department, reported that the latest victim was Saimae Singchom.

She had been transferred from Chulalongkorn Hospital to Maharat Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital and died at 6.30pm on 11 August 2026.

Hospital treatment continues

A total of 77 injured people were taken to hospital after the fire at the venue, known as Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao, according to the update.

Of those patients, 53 have been discharged and returned home. The report said 11 have died receiving treatment, while 13 were still receiving treatment, including the seven ICU patients and six in ordinary hospital wards.
