Man Shoots Sister Dead in Rayong

So firearms were present at this court arranged meeting!

I'm witnessing this type of dispute at the moment. My wife decided to renovate her mothers house in Korat. Her mother died 26 years ago and the house has been left vacant for all those years. So after 2 months the renovations are nearly completed. So along comes this couple who now own the dilapidated vacant property next door. It appears that the next door property was owned by my wife's deceased cousin and the woman who's shooting her mouth off is my wife's cousins daughter. Incidentally they've never met before yesterday. Now the woman is claiming that my wife has encroached on the next doors land by 2 meters. The lady stated she wants to build a fence, so I instructed my wife to make it one meter each and told my wife to keep her mouth shut in regards to the fence and let her pay 100% of the bill. I'm doing the right thing and keeping right out of it. I'm not saying that this will end in violence but petty cases such as this in Thailand can get right out of control. I'm certain that getting a life sentence for premeditated murder over a property dispute is no way to claim a win. Incidentally my wife claims that the chanote has been altered as her sister hocked the property to pay a gambling debt which was paid back. TIT.

Maybe the guy was a sore loser and didn't like the results of the survey. A neighbor of mine was putting in a wall around his property. There was a very large tree right on the property line that his neighbor claimed to have planted 20 years ago and didn't want it cut down. There is now a jog around the tree. That part of the fence was paid for by the neighbor.

What did the accused expect to gain by murdering? Idiot.

I agree- whatever you say you know you will be in the wrong with one side or the other

I also made the mistake of building a house and living in the immediate vicinity of my relatives.

In hindsight, it’s the biggest mistake you can make.

Jealousy, drama, arguments, guns, knives, and brawls.

When it comes to money, it’s every man for himself; nationality and/or race play no role in that.

It’s a shame that people are like that.

I kept right away from where they were arguing. I only spoke to my wife in private when she came back upstairs when she was finished working for the day. I didn't tell my wife to build a fence, I said let the other person do that and let her pay for the entire fence herself if the other person wants a fence, then that's up to her. Surely I can give a bit of advice to my wife of 25 years.

You betcha and I did exactly that, my wife only went to junior school for 3 years and she can get flustered when some one tries to stand over her in situations like this.

I have no problems with her family, they all agreed it should be in my wife's name as my wife was the first daughter that her mother produced. I hate being here but I am her husband I'm just trying to do the right thing by her. I have nothing to do with anyone up here outside of my wife's family.

There was a property dispute here in about...2018 or so? Bit vague, maybe early 2019; definitely before The Plague as one of those in dispute died in 2020.
One man (late 70s) was having an argument with another man (mid 70s) over where a soon-to-be dug dam wall should end. The older one wanted it along one delineation point (allegedly along the border of his land to maximise the growing area) as the parcels abutted one another, while the other was saying that line was 20 meters further west.

I was there because I had driven the rot e-gong to the area as it had all the stakes and netting on the flatbed for the tang-kwah (cucumber) field that the dam was to provide water to.
So, they're standing there; their 50+ year-old offspring keeping their lips firmly shut while their fathers were screaming at each other.
"Sorry," I interjected from about 10 metres away from Ground Zero, and then repeated, louder, "Sorry!"
They turned around. What's this?" pointing to the ground near my foot.
It was a concrete survey marker.
And didn't that make me a [inappropriate term, lol] for one side of the family for two years?
It wasn't as if I put it there. Khorthod, farang mai ru.

But, on a positive note, I didn't wake up with a machete sticking out of my chest so...all good?

I'm only here under sufferance, I hate the f****** place. I will say again I'm only here because my wife wanted to come here. I've been here for 7 weeks now and the longer I stay here the more I hate it. Things that I don't like include, I've been attacked by dogs on my wifes property. The mole patrol are on our doorstep at 6 am and stay to talk all day. Motor bikes roar up and down all night when we're trying to sleep. That's just a few things, Our home is in a very large estate in the Nong Chok area, it's 100% different to here where the majority here are feral especially if they consider themselves under the pump.
