Pattaya teen says British man punched him over lost key

Pattaya police are investigating after a 17-year-old Thai man said he was punched in the face by a British man while trying to help find a missing motorcycle key.

The reported assault happened at about 6am on 16 September 2026 on South Pattaya Road, near the Ba Ka Din restaurant.

Police Lieutenant Yutthana Phosidee, a deputy investigation inspector at Mueang Pattaya Police Station, received the report of a fight involving an injured person. Officers attended with rescuers from the Sawang Boriboon Pattaya Foundation.

At the scene, police found 17-year-old Sarasin Pramulpong with facial injuries. He told officers that he had been attacked by a foreign man after intervening to assist the man and a Thai woman who had been arguing about a lost motorcycle key.

Teen says he tried to help

Sarasin said he had seen the foreign man and Thai woman, whom he believed to be a couple, pushing a motorcycle towards a convenience store.

According to his account, the man left the motorcycle parked inside the shop before the pair walked towards the entrance to South Pattaya Road.

Sarasin said he approached in the hope of helping and followed them on a motorcycle alongside rescue workers. He later learned that the couple had been arguing over the missing key.

The Thai woman then asked him to take her back to the motorcycle so they could look for it, he said.

After they returned to the vehicle, Sarasin said he did not know what the woman said to the foreign man. He alleged that the man then unexpectedly turned and punched him in the face, leaving him injured.

He said he was confused by the attack, as he had only intended to offer assistance.

Police take man to station

When police arrived, the man ran off, but was caught and detained by police and local residents.

Police took the man to Mueang Pattaya Police Station to calm the situation and question those involved. Officers said he appeared intoxicated and very agitated at the time of the incident.

Investigators identified the man as a 21 year old Brit, Ryan Parker. Police reported that they will examine the circumstances and collect evidence before proceeding under the legal process.
