No. Absolutely not. I feel infinitely safer here than I do in most major American cities. 99.9% of the violence and the murder is Thai on Thai, and this kind of thing is an absolute aberration. And we still have no reason to believe that this was absolutely random.

What I would agree with is that the officials really do not want us here, but they tolerate us and since I've never felt the need to be accepted anyway, it really doesn't matter one iota to me what they think. But my Thai friends think of us and what my wife's friends think of us is far more important to me.

The officials don't count, they've never done anything to benefit the people anyway so they're what I call the Invisible men. Using an agent for immigration purposes has helped a great deal to enhance my lifestyle here.

I don't think the police would get involved in petty crime such as dismantling a motorbike for parts.

Some press reports have said so. As I recall it was evident from CCTV footage of when the perpetrators initially stopped the Russian youngsters at the side of the road in the early hours of the morning, as well as when they made their initial escape on a red motorbike.

"It asked members of the public with information or evidence that could help the cases to contact police so it can be checked and acted upon." So you can be disposed of in the same manner!

One would like to thinks so, but they are not particularly well paid, and likely covet the trimmings, or maybe carry an addiction.
