A family I know, someone poisoned their dog last week. People are evil.

What was is Husky doing out without the owner.

I know it is no excuse for setting it on fire , but it might have been causing problems in other neighbourhoods.

It takes a truly sick human being to do such a thing - someone sub-human even... However, when reading my thoughts also focused on what was such a dog doing out and about unsecured and that maybe it was frequent problem in the area.

... I'd wonder the same of this post...

..and I'd agree... people can be evil - but I'd also be asking why ? - was the dog a noisy nuisance ? or the house about to be robbed ?

Currently overseas - I popped into shop... there was a dog on the leash tied up outside, it would not stop barking, the noise echoed in the shop.... the shop owner looked at me somewhat critically as I requested my order, so I immediately felt compelled to state "no - its not my dog"... his response was "ah ok"...

... the dog belonged to another man in the shop who heard the conversation... no apologies, no acknowledgement of being a nuisance - like smokers, some dog owners are oblivious to the nuisance they cause to others.

That does not in any way or form justify any harm towards an animal - but I do wonder how oblivious some owners are and if that leads to the horrific events we read in news such as this.

The dog was gentle. It just kind of hung out at the shop.

There was a dog that used to poop on the porch of a house I had in Washington State. Finally fed up with it, I took the dog to the local humane society. The owner had to pay a fine to get the dog back and suddenly no more poop on my porch.

Focus the punishment on the owner. The dog doesn't know any better.

Isn't it cruel to keep these huskies in such a hot climate anyway? In my town we have an a r s e h o l e, sorry hisole family who parade their 2 Huskies up and down the crowded weekend walking street showing them off as a status symbol.

Whoever did this is a truly sick sadistic moron

Throw the perpetrator into a den of wild pit bulls and let them avenge their brother.

I agree, I find the heat in Thailand unbearable at times so it must be far worse for these kind of dogs. I don't understand why anyone with a brain would think a husky is a good choice for that heat.

The dog in question was, apparently, part of a two-dog serial-duck-killing team, as opposed to a gentle hanging-out-at-the-shop kind of dog.

I guess we know the appropriate punishment. Take it like a Buddhist monk in Vietnam and Tibet. There's a burn unit just waiting for you...

I am not a dog lover, but do not condone cruelty to any animal, However,regardless of the sentimental value, these dogs are not exactly cheap, according to Mr google a "standard" pet grade pup can cost from 8000 to 15,000 baht with a "high end pedigree" version costing 15,000 up to 30,000 Show dogs can cost 30,000to 70,000 and "elite" quality dogs from renowned breeders fetching an eye popping 100,000 baht

Considering they cost as much as a small motorcycle It surprises me that the dog was allowed out anywhere on its own, Thefts of such animals not that uncommon. There is also a safety issue such a strong and powerful dog is an attack waiting to happen and it could easily kill a kid or an elderly person It should not be anywhere except on the end of a lead

The demands for the culprit to be caught and punished are understandable ,but the lack of criticism for the negligent owner isn't. I guess he's learned his lesson, then again maybe not

Its not only Smokers and Dog owners, People with badly behaved kids are equally annoying if not worse. Many seem either incapable or just plain unwilling of disciplining their offspring and particularly in the case of boys , we all know how they can turn out if left to run wild

Terrible. But why .. WHY do Thai people .. (or anyone living in a hot climate) .. own dogs like SIBERIAN Huskies? Just because you think the dog looks adorable and cute .. does not give you the right to also be abusive. The dog was bred to have a thick and very warm coat to protect it from snow and cold .. NOT bred for hot climates. Yes, setting the animal on fire is extreme cruelty, but having the dog in Thailand in the first place is not exactly kind.
