Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport has climbed to 36th place in the 2026 World Airport Awards, improving three positions on last year's ranking, according to aviation consultancy Skytrax.
Singapore Changi Airport again took the Airport of the Year title, its 14th win in the 27-year history of the awards. Seoul Incheon in South Korea was second and Tokyo Haneda third.
Suvarnabhumi moves up three places
Suvarnabhumi was placed 39th in Skytrax's 2025 rankings and has now risen to 36th. The airport handles a large share of Thailand's long-haul international arrivals and departures, making its service standards particularly relevant to expats travelling home, visitors arriving on holiday and residents connecting through Bangkok.
Among other Southeast Asian airports named in the rankings, Kuala Lumpur International Airport came 60th. Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi was 71st, while Da Nang International Airport was ranked 75th.

Suvarnabhumi's 36th-place position means it remains outside the top 10 but has made measurable progress over the previous year.
What the ranking means for travellers
Skytrax's awards are closely watched in the aviation sector, but passengers should not assume a higher ranking guarantees a smoother journey on any particular day. Queues at check-in, security, immigration and baggage collection can still vary according to flight schedules, staffing and peak travel periods.
