A Swedish woman identified as Mrs Felicia has been arrested at a condominium in Phuket after immigration police said she was wanted on an Interpol Red Notice over an alleged call-centre scam.
Phuket Immigration said the suspect had entered Thailand on a tourist visa and was staying in a condominium in Moo 9, Wichit, in Phuket's Muang district. Her permission to remain in Thailand has now been revoked.
Police allege 60 million baht fraud
The operation was ordered on 5 August by Pol Maj Gen Chutharet Yingyongdamrongsakul, commander of Immigration Division 6.
Acting Pol Col Wuttipat Napachot, superintendent of the Investigation Sub-Division at Immigration Division 6, led officers alongside Pol Col Khemchat Wattananapakasem, Phuket Immigration superintendent, to inspect the condominium after intelligence suggested a person subject to an international arrest notice was hiding there.
Officers said Mrs Felicia was considered a dangerous individual linked to a call-centre gang and was wanted in connection with public fraud.
According to the investigation, in early 2022 the suspect and more than 14 alleged accomplices posed as staff from financial institutions and banks. They are accused of calling victims and persuading them to transfer money on more than 163 occasions.
Tourist permission cancelled
Immigration records showed that Mrs Felicia arrived in Thailand on 31 January 2026, through the Ranong Customs Pier checkpoint. She was initially granted permission to stay until 31 March 2026.
She later applied for an extension at Phuket Immigration, which authorities said, allowed her to remain until 31 August 2026. Immigration Division 6 has now cancelled that permission, and she is being held at Phuket Immigration for further legal proceedings.
