US, Thai, Nigerian charged with smuggling drugs

Featured Replies

Three people were yesterday charged with bringing more than a kilo of cocaine into the country from Brazil. The suspects were identified as Fortune Egwuonwu, a 33-year-old Nigerian man, Meyer Nancy Lela, a 32-year-old American woman, and Tippapat Mueanchan, a 30-year-old Thai woman.

Brigadier General Loeuk Vannak said Ms Lela was apprehended on Thursday as she attempted to smuggle the drugs through Phnom Penh International Airport. She had flown into the country from Brazil via Dubai and Hong Kong.
