Pattaya court goes online

PATTAYA:--The Pattaya Provincial Court is going electronic to improve service for those involved in legal cases.

Judge Kasem Supasit, courthouse director Kaset Niwatwuthikij and Pattaya Mayor Anan Charoenchasri announced the formal start of the “E-Court” system Aug. 24 following a test run last year.

The online system offers both educational and transactional services, offering the public a way to learn how the court system works, as well as the laws of the land.

But the online system also allows people who file or are brought up in legal cases a way to speak with court officers and mediators via the internet.

And no mention of the website address...probably has to be kept secret anyway so the hackers won't bring it down !

LOL.  In the real world, when courts go online it means being able to review court case dockets and filed pleadings, allowing the filing of pleadings, providing downloadable and fillable court forms, and reviewing the case's calendar with the court.  But, giving people static propaganda I suppose has some purpose, but it's not improving legal services.

For anyone who has dealing with the system here this is a huge leap forward. It should be extended nationwide.

Thank you.

Thailand enjoys photo ops with their latest innovations so they can gain face but once the reporters go home, the innovations are secondary and often forgotten or "delayed."
