Officials found list of targets with 5,000 names in east German raid- media

 

BERLIN (Reuters) - German officials found lists with over 5,000 names of possible targets, including over 100 politicians, during the raids on the homes and workplaces of two terrorism suspects in the east German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern last week, Die Welt newspaper reported on Friday.

 

The newspaper, citing security sources, said one of the suspects, a former policeman who has since been suspended, is believed to have used his office computer to search out the addresses of political opponents.

 

German police on Aug. 28 raided the homes and workplaces of the policeman and another person suspected of planning to capture and kill politicians because of their views on immigration, authorities said. [nL8N1LE2AY]

 

The newspaper report marked the first substantial details that have emerged about the case.

 

At the time, the federal prosecutor's office said the suspects, who feared Germany's refugee policies would impoverish the country, had begun to stockpile food and ammunition and plan attacks.

 

The newspaper said there were no indications thus far of surveillance of the people on the lists, or of any concrete murder plans. Much of the information was publicly available, the paper cited the sources as saying.

 

Federal police officials seized two binders filled with names of over 5,000 people during searches of the properties of one of the suspects, an attorney and a local politician in Rostock, a northern city.

 

It said the politicians on the list belonged to a wide range of parties, including Chancellor Angela Merkel's conservatives.

Don't get carried away, the biggest crime they have evidence of is the misuse of police computers. Hardly up there with ramming stolen trucks through crowds of women and children, now is it? This smacks of German authorities clutching at straws trying to paint an imaginary "militant right" as a dangerous foe coming up to this election where all focus should be on the rapid islamification of Germany(which these suspects were merely reacting to). Heck, at the recent G20 meet in Germany there were 10s of 1000s of violent antifas on a rampage, and here we are, misuse of police computers. Sad, it really is sad.

a) Blanket condemnation and immediate calls for the expulsion of like-minded scumbags, the denigration and demonization of their religion/culture and the conclusion that whatever they're for must be fought against with all available means;

 

Sympathetic mewlings about how this is the fault of the "Liberals" or Merkel or how they weren't really intending to do any harm.

 

Just remember, becoming a creature of the Alt-Right means throwing all of your so-called principles out of the window except when convenient.

Another apologist for the far right....No, No I really do not support the far right, you misunderstand -  etc etc etc LOL.

 

 

I don't think it is about being apologetic but just suggesting that the policies of Merkel with regard to allowing so much immigration without regard to how others think or the effect of those policies on everyday people seems to bring out extremes because, as usual, the people were not allowed to be part of the decision process.  It's all done by politicians with their own agenda.

Excusing or sympathising with those who plan to commit terrorist acts is being an apologist - end of.

 

Elections in Germany are due for later this month which is the method  to express dissatisfaction with current immigration policies.  However, to highlight a prediction, which could turn out to be incorrect, from another topic on TV below. 

 

"Merkel is widely expected to win a record-tying fourth term on Sept. 24, with polls showing her centre-right bloc 13-15 percentage points ahead of its closest rival, the Social Democrats (SPD)"

So kowtowing to terrorists isn't necessarily wrong? It just depends on which terrorists you kowtow to?
