Fire destroys company warehouse in Nakhon Pathom

By The Nation

NAKHON PATHOM: -- A fire swept through the warehouse of a firm in Nakhon Pathom province early Friday, destroying fertilizers, weed-killers and insecticides as well as parked vehicles.

Police said the fire started at 1.30am at the Rojpanakit Co in Factory Land 2 industrial estate on Buddhamonthon 5 Road, Samphran district.

More than 10 fire engines took over two hours to put out the blaze.

The fire engulfed the entire warehouse building, causing its roof to collapse.

Permsak Rojanapiansatit, 62, the owner of the company, said the front part of the building was used as the office and the rear part as the warehouse for storing goods and packing fertilizers and chemicals into bags. The company employs 10 workers who work from 8am to 5pm.

Sunthorn Poonsup, 55, a security officer, told police that he heard explosion sounds twice in the warehouse and ran to check and saw the fire spreading fast so he called police.

The fire scorched all the fertilizers and chemicals in the warehouse and destroyed two forklift vehicles, two pickup trucks and an SUV parked there.
