BANGKOK: -- The Pheu Thai party has urged the Office of the Auditor-General to investigate the Army’s procurement of a 350 million baht air ship and hundreds of GT200 portable bomb detectors in order to set a precedent for future procurement of materials by state agencies.

The party spokesman, Mr Chirayu Huangsap, said on Sunday that the party welcomed the OAG’s initiative to look into the procurement of the air ship by the army and the procurement of GT200 by the army as well as several state agencies such as the police and customs.

He said the probe should set a precedent so that a standard should be laid down on procurement process to make sure that taxpayers’ money are spent wisely and worthy of its value by state agencies.

Now that will be a FIRST ! to make sure that taxpayers’ money are spent wisely and worthy of its value by state agencies

Tomorrow's headline:

PM uses section 44 to introduce statute of limitations on military procurement issues.

And that's all there is to it.

Submarines?

Sadly the old blimp never saved the day.  It sort of sums up the last three years; slow moving, not useful and sad.

Microphones anyone?

The horse has bolted and the gate is still open....

If Prayut sees that photo he will be claiming that the Thai army has been running top secret lunar orbital missions and the language of the universe has been proclaimed Thai.

Which might seem a bit sad.

But even sadder is that there would be a few million Thais who would actually believe him.

Please don't probe the blimp. That will deflate it completely wasting all the remaining expensive helium.

Prayut has said that the fake GT200 bomb detectors are better than nothing.

Sounds like a standard has been set already.

Got an aircraft carrier that isn't seaworthy - it's better than nothing.

As if the Government (Army) will investigate itself and find anything amiss?

Are you referring to the deputy PM or the waste of money flying to nowhere. Sorry forgot, they both did that.
