Tourist visa

Featured Replies

Ihave been in thailand now for  few months using a tourist visa. i started off with a 60 day single then extended i have done land crossing and extension x2 and have also flown out to loas and extended that. what else can i do? can i do more border crossing or do i have to fly out again, last time i done a land crossing she told me i couldnt do ant more land crossings using the first 60 day visa sticker in passport. but i got a new one when i went to loas.. please help as i do not want to go back to the uk just yet i still want to do more traveling.

You can only do 2 visa exempt entries per calendar year at a land border crossing.

Best to a apply for a single entry tourist visa rather than doing border runs. The embassy in Vientiane is a good location to get one.

I have already been to the Thai embassy in Vientiane an got 60day tourist visa and I have just extended that! Just need to know why I need to do now

I've been here 3 years... out for maybe 4 months in total. Never had any issue

So you started with a SETV, then 2 visa exempts, and then another SETV and extended each? So you have been in Thailand for 90+60+60+90 days?

Go to the embassy in Vietianne or wherever, get another SETV, and extend it, when this one is over it's 2018 and you can do 2 land border crossings again.

The other option is to fly back into Thailand, then you get another Visa exemption, but in December you have to do the same again or get a SETV then

Yes I have done 90-60-60-90! What do I need to do now? Do I need to fly out again? Do I need to go to a different country or can I go to Vientiane again?

No problem to get another tourist visa in Vientiane since apparently you have only gotten one visa from them.

No need to fly out to get a tourist visa. For a another visa exempt entry you would have to fly out and back.

again more to do with this. i have just flown back from vientiene and i was stop when they check your passport. they have said i have been in the country for to long using tourist visa.(just got a new 60day from vientiene) they have said i can not extend this visa and can not do any border runs any more and would need to go back to my own country otherwise i run the risk of not be able to come back to thailand.

They are just trying to scare you

You will be able to extend your current TV

When that expires go to Vientianne again for a new one however do not depart and therefore come back via any of the 2 BKK Airports on a international flight, however domestic is fine

There are different ways to get to Vientianne to get a new TV, do a forum search on this
