DNA samples to reveal if Yingluck fled country in a car

BANGKOK, 3rd October 2017 (NNT) - The Central Police Forensic Science Division says it will reveal in a few days if the DNA of a woman found in a Toyota Camry, is that of former premier Yingluck Shinawatra who fled the country in August.

Central Police Forensic Science Division Commander, Pol Maj Gen Thawatchai Mekprasertkul said the examination of 100 DNA samples collected at Yingluck’s home and in other places she had visited would be sufficient, adding that there is no need to collect DNA samples from her son or her relatives.

It will be revealed within two days whether the DNA found in the car matches Yingluck’s. Authorities are trying to establish if the former prime minister left the country in the alleged Toyota Camry.

Meanwhile, Deputy Spokesperson of the Royal Thai Police Pol Col Kritsana Pattanacharoen said Thailand is seeking cooperation from the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) in regard to Yingluck’s whereabouts.

The three police officers believed to have been involved in transporting Yingluck to the border are being investigated. The investigation will conclude in 60 days.

"It will be revealed within two days."

Can't wait for that, it's my turn to be on the tele/in the papers....

why so long

haven't they confessed?

Looks like a fairly long prison sentence for the car.

The old distraction trick. Who cares if she was teleported, swam, flew, walked or was driven; where is she and more importantly why was she let go? Of course there will never been an answer to the last question!

...and if the DNA in the car isn't hers...well...we will just "fit" it up to match hers....we are good at that..

Wrong sunshine.   It means she might have been inside the car at some time.  There does not seem to be any proof she crossed the boarder.

will the seat be sold on eBay ?.....just asking.

what a waste of time , if they had have put this effort into the killing of the two british

kids maybe the real killers would have been caught.

What a farce! They got exactly what they wanted they gave her the option to leave and she took it. Now quickly find a patsy to take the wrap for it and close the case.

I am sure that if you've been in Thailand more than a few months, you should know the answer to that question.

All this feigned surprise, shock, confusion etc is all part of the grand theatre being played out by the people running this country.

Unless one is a complete fool, it is not hard to guess where she is and roughly how she got there.

They do not want here here at this moment in Thai history,on the eve of a solemn major event. When everything settles down for a few days after the end of October, then there may be some more revelations, but at the moment, the guv wants the troublesome Shins out of the way.

I'm quite sure they know exactly who killed the back-packers on Koh Tao,

She astral projected out of the country....what car???

No! Thai DNA different. Special. Unique. Superior.

Not really a political person, but, as my Irish Granny used to say, 'why do you need to prove something that a blind man on a galloping horse could see'

Just sayin'

Someone will doubtless already have pointed this out but DNA testing will not confirm whether Yingluck used the car as a getaway car. It will confirm only that she was in the car at some point in time, not necessarily the time of the flight.

What possible body location could the DNA be from if it's collected from the seat? One can only imagine what went on in Yingluks nickers during the car ride.

I fail to see what her DNA or anyone's DNA in the car could possible prove other than than placing that person in this car. Also, I question RTP or the DNA lab's ability in DNA testing after the Koh Tao police murder investigation and prosecution of the Burmese debacle.

So she wasn't wearing any knickers? I suppose that's to be expected as she must have been in a hurry in leaving her house. Happens all the time.

Wrong again. It means that someone who was in her house at some time might have been in the car.

No it will prove beyond reasonable doubt that she was in the car when she left the country.

This is what DNA does in Thailand!

Or how do they prove dna in the house is her's? Any house would have dna from multiple people.

DNA samples? Wonder if they have the same (thinking of an adjective) people on the job that those two scapegoats from Myanmar got.

They have to placate the red masses somehow. Cannot have a martyr in prison!

NOT taking sides, just stating the obvious.

Well, if they found the woman in the Camry, it would be a fair assumption that her DNA was, indeed, hers.

If no woman was found, then how the hell do they know the DNA even belongs to a woman until they have actually tested it? Something they undoubtedly have yet to do.
