PEA warns against fake bill collectors

PATTAYA:--The Provincial Electricity Authority reminded customers that the utility never collects payments from home after fraudsters began showing up at people’s houses impersonating bill collectors.

PEA assistant manager Chaiya Somwang said Sept. 30 that the company only collects electric bill payments at service counters and online.

Chaiya also noted that the receipts being handed out by the grifters are fake, bearing only the PEA logo, not the long computerized printout the utility issues.

He advised anyone who had paid a bogus PEA bill collector at home to file a report with police.

true enough; friend of mine called thailand a 'fake country'

Also included on the above fake list should be fake electric companies.  My authority is Navy run from Sattahip.  Someone there needs corrective training.  Hardly a week goes by without a cut in supplies that shuts down computers/tv services/ceiling fans.  The cut sometimes lasts only a few seconds.

I don't want to get started on what happens when there's a storm.

This monopoly needs investigation , try and get service for their mistakes, bad shoddy installation, sub standard materials, easy to threaten you, charge for their mistakes when they have the "only game in town".
