Tourist on a non-B visa

Featured Replies

Other way round than usual ;)

I'm coming to the end of a stint as a teacher in a few days, and still have 2 months to run on my 3 month non B visa.  I intend to visit a friend in Krabi, then sign up at Wat pa Nanachat for an...open ended period of time.

Generally Nanachat advise a 3 month tourist visa, but I've already had 2 of those this year, so my preferred plan is to run out the non B then get a visa exemption for the remainder of the year. UK national btw. Any issues?

Also just a thanks to the forum members here, this place has been an invaluable resource over my time in Thailand.

You can get a 30 day visa exempt entry at the end of the 90 days from the non-b visa without a problem.

Grand thanks, and is there be a problem staying at the monastery on non-b? As it's technically a work visa, and Wat time counts as tourism...

It does not matter once you are in the country on a permit to stay.

Quick question to the OP.

Are the 90 days you refer to on a single entry Non Imm' B,  ie a Visa obtained outside Thailand, say Penang or another country?

Wait, just to confirm, it does matter, or it *doesn't*? ( if I am a tourist on a work visa).

Single entry, got it in Savannakhet. I won't be leaving the country during that duration, though I am on the verge of booking a flight from Ubon to Phuket.

So it should remain valid until use by/enter by date.

I have had a few times company admin tell me they 'must cancel visa' but that only applies if you have converted to an extension of stay and you do 90 day reports.

Travelling in country will have no effect on it.
