PHUKET: Phuket’s main department stores, Central Festival Phuket and Jungceylon have announced that they will close early on Oct 26 to commemorate the Royal Cremation of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

SWIFT says hackers still targeting bank messaging system

TORONTO (Reuters) – Hackers continue to target the SWIFT bank messaging system, though security controls instituted after last year’s $81 million heist at Bangladesh’s central bank have helped thwart many of those attempts, a senior SWIFT official told Reuters.

PHUKET: A nightclub Disc Jockey (DJ) was lucky to escape uninjured after crashing his pickup truck into a lamp post positioned on the central reservation of Thepkrassatri Rd in Thalang yesterday morning (Oct 13).

Flooded road causes traffic gridlock on Don Muang Tollway

OTTAWA/TORONTO (Reuters) - A U.S.-Canadian couple freed in Pakistan this week, nearly five years after being abducted in Afghanistan, returned to Canada on Friday where the husband said one of his children had been murdered and his wife had been raped.

SONOMA, Calif. (Reuters) - Fire officials in Northern California reported further headway on Friday against the most lethal outbreak of wildfires in state history, as the death toll rose to 35 and teams with cadaver dogs combed charred ruins for human remains.

The Government on Saturday denied reports on social media that the Bhumibol dam, the largest in the North, had released water through the Chao Phraya that may one day cause flooding in Bangkok.
