Picture: Thai Rath Thai Rath published a picture of a Chiang Mai hill road that had slipped in a landslide at the weekend. Route 1249 up to Ang Khang was impassable and soldiers and highways staff were on the scene erecting signs and trying to stop the flow of water into large fissures in the road. The heavy rains have been blamed. Motorists and tourists can still get up the hill going via Fang and route 1178, said the highways department. The construction there has been pretty damn good for many years. If you have been there on that road you probably wouldn't say that.
