Police in Pattaya have arrested three Iranian men who were found in possession of $900 worth of fake currency.

The three men, identified as MR.MAJID SHOKRI, 30, MR.HAMID MOUTABCHI, 36, MR.MAHDI LATIFI, 31, were arrested after trying to exchange the money at various currency exchange booths near Pattaya Soi 6.

Police said the fake currency had been produced overseas and that the trio had brought it into Thailand.

I'm surprised the 'fashion police' didn't arrest them first ! :cheesy: :cheesy:

Must be from the stash Obama gave them for the Iranian deal .

To pick some nits: the value is not $900 but might be better stated as "with currency value of $900 if they could pass them off", or something like that.

Mahdi.....Majid....Hamid

are these anagrams ???

This will be nothing t the wrath of the bar girls and any pimps who they payed in fake $'s

Idiots probably put the picture of the Ayatollah on the front.

Or Trump.

They certainly weren't slaves to the fashion trade.

Should have gave them fake Thai currency in exchange.....

No doubt the currency is fake. They could have gotten it innocently enough and not known it was fake.

No pimps in Pattaya but they better not have short changes a lady boy, reportedly to have elephant memories.

WRONG!!!!!!! Let them rot in a Thai prison for quite a while then deport them........  LOL......

I have a friend in Pattaya who went to PP in Cambodia and in a market place saw a vendor selling large packs of US $100 bills (50 or maybe 100 bills in a pack) for just a couple dollars, so he bought a pack of them just for fun and brought them back in his bag when he flew back to Thailand...........

We had breakfast a few days later and he showed a couple of the bills he had with him, and the rest of us scared hell out of him telling him what 'could have happened' if customs at the airport had found them in his bag.........

He didn't have any 'illegal plans' and got scared when he realized that he could have got himself into a mess of 'deep DoDo'............

Hopefully they will be deported poste haste.........
Come to Pattaya commit crimes and get deported immediately. What are you smoking?

Unless they have a lot more stashed away I hardly think $900USD will keep the 3 of them in kabab's for more than a day or so.

Good chance they have been scammed, now the double whammy.

Deported? In the interest of multicultural fairness they should he afforded a punishment for counterfeiting and fraud equal to that what would most likely be handed down in Iran, by trial of the “Islamic Revolutionary Courts”.
