Chanthaburi House For Rent Or House To Sell, Why So Difficult To Find ?

Featured Replies

Hello,

Do you know why it is so difficult to find a house to rent or buy at Chanthaburi ? Is there a shortage ?

After looking everywhere I found only one that costs at least twice what it should cost anywhere else.

If you have found anything please help.

Nothing on google and Kai dee.

I am not looking for fake old useless ads, I am looking for real life experience.

If it was so easy I would not ask here.

Thank you.

Maybe start with stating what you want:

How many bedrooms, price range, aircon or fan, pool, wifi, ........

Sorry but it is not Pattaya or BKK. At Chanthaburi you take what you can find, not what you want to find. So any house with at least 1 bedroom is  welcome. Thank you.

You obviously don't:

You found a house but it was too expensive.

You want a house but don't state what you want or for what price.

How on earth can somebody help you with that.

I know Thai people who have contacts there but instead of stating what you want, you piss people off. Goodbye.

I'll have you know, posters on TV have solved more crimes than the BIB.

They also know how to make a small fortune in Thailand, come with a large one.[emoji4]

I think I know what the OP is talking about. Outside of Tourist-Hubs or larger cities, it can be hard to find "free-standing" houses for rent or to buy. (The RE market can be "thin", with little "turnover".)
In those more rural aereas, Thai's build their houses according to "Family-Demands". Therefore, they are occupied and not for rent or sale. One may find "appartements" (Thai-Style), but this is not what the OP is looking for.
No wonder, that Farangs, moving to rural aereas end up building their own homes.

OP may want to try this:
- Start "mouth to mouth campaign" by wife/gf at local market (Farang stay out of it, for obvious reasons) = Price!
- Visit local Banks, asking for pending foreclosures. Price-wise, can be interesting.
Unfortunately, Thai private individuals are hesitant to go this route, leaving those opportunities to specialised RE Firms.

Every local Bank has a list of "weak-mortgages". Don't ask the friendly Bank Teller at the counter, ask for the Bank Manager and don't be shy and mention the word "cash" frequently.
Cheers.
