Transfer of Entry Stamp to new passport

Featured Replies

Hi,

can I go straight to the airport for departure and the IO transfers the Entry Stamp to my brand new PP and stamps me out of Thailand?  My new Non-O -Multiple Entry Visa Sticker (from September 2017) from Thai Embassy in Penang is still in my old PP and as far as I know it can't be transferred to my new PP and I have to show both PP at airport immigration on departure.

From now until you get a new Visa in your new passport you just have to carry and show both passports when exiting / entering.

Not sure the IO will need to transfer your old entry stamp, just put the exit stamp in your new passport.

When you leave the country the first time you will show both passports on departure from the country. They will transfer your current entry stamp from your old passport to the new one and stamp you out of the country in the new one.

When you enter the country you will show both passports to use the visa in your old passport until your visa expires. They will stamp you into the country in your new one.

Yes you can.

If you have a long term extension of stay issued at an immigration office in Thailand, along with a reentry permit to keep that extension intact, I believe you need to visit your local immigration office to have the appropriate stamps transferred. Otherwise, you can get everything dealt with on exit from Thailand (allowing a bit more time to get it done).
