A Camry driver was killed and two others were injured after a collision in the early hours of this morning on the Bangkok ring road western section.

A taxi was severely damaged with its driver taken to hospital.

Police in Klong Samwa and foundation medics at the scene found an Isuzu pick-up with a smashed in rear section parked on the left of the highway.

Some 50 meters down the road was an overturned Camry and a pink taxi.

Rescuers found driver Natthaphon Kraithong alive behind the wheel of the Camry and efforts were made to cut him out but he died at the scene. His passenger Bunnaphop Wisarotsakun was taken to hospital.

Taxi driver Wisit Wongwiriyamethee was also taken to hospital.

Pick-up driver Bunchuay Patsadorn, 56, said he was driving home to Talat Thai after work when he was rear ended in the left hand lane by the Camry that then overturned and smashed into the taxi.

Police are investigating.

How do you rear end someone on the highway?

It's impossible to protect yourself from that.

well cars don't just flip over  by themselves or from  low forces of impact . There was some serious speed to blame here . ...........ho hum ...its all been said before..!!!!:coffee1:

Camry speeding, pickup no rear lights.

Why the hell are Thais always in a <deleted> hurry ?

Because they haven't eaten in two hours.

Thanks, soistalker. That's close to reality.

That's why they're speeding from breakfast to 2nd breakfast to lunch and from there to another lunch to coffee break to early dinner, to dinner and after dinner and finally from after dinner to breakfast... for they're speeding ALL the time.
