Lao man faces deportation for tampering with passport

By The Nation

Mukdahan immigration police on Saturday arrested a Lao man for tampering with his passport to try to enter the border checkpoint in this northeastern province.

Puangped, 33, was arrested at the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge 2 checkpoint in Tambon Bang Sai Yai in Mukdahan’s Muang district.

The immigration police at the checkpoint found that the Lao man’s passport was attached with pages from another book as they had a different sequence number.

Puangped told Thai police that his passport was original but as it was running out of pages and he had to travel to Ubon Ratchathani on Saturday to handle his tourism business, he had attached more pages for visa stamps on his own.

The Thai immigration police said it would take further legal action and deport him.

???

It is not the deportation he should be worrying about... basically refused entry, it is the fine(s), detention, prison time and being barred from the kingdom that he should be worrying about, and his business in Thailand...

Presume the they will be looking into his work permit ...or lack of.
