mrblonde
Afternoon all We are due in Ayutthaya next weekend for 4 nights and thinking of visiting Lopburi for a day to see/photo/get mugged by the monkeys, whats the best way to get there from Ayutthaya please? We are staying in Ayutthaya on U-Thong road, was thinking of the train, never used a train before in thailand so will be an experience Any things to look out for, and to do or not do in Lopburi? Kwasaki
From Ayutthaya bus station to Lopburi 1 hour or so in car so bus 1.1/2 hours.
kickstart
You can go by mini bus ,most leave from the main road at the frount of Robinsons Department store ,been a while since I was in Ayutthaya, some now may leave from the bus station ,use to drop you off at the level crossings in the city center There is a bus ,but it will take 3 hours ,stops at most lane ends ,and never seems to find top gear. The train will allso take allmost 3 hours ,check times at the station, only cost a few bart . What not to do in Lopburi ,feed the monkeys ,or go near them with plastic bags ,liable to take them from you .

Thanks Kwasaki, do you think we'd find a driver outside the bus station (or train station) happy to drive us there, wait a few hours then back again? If so, any idea what we should pay?
