SCG gets label for energy-saving roofing products

SCG has been awarded an “Energy Saving Label” from the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE) of the Ministry of Energy.

The stamp is for products offering high energy-saving performance and helping reduce the nation’s energy consumption of the nation. 

 

SCG will apply the label across 16 products using three types of roofing material. The diversified cement company is also the first fiberglass insulation provider to receive the energy label.

 

Thermal insulation represents about 10 per cent of the Bt10 billion market for roofing products in Thailand this year, according to a company press release.

 

The company sees potential increasing growth in energy-saving building materials, said Boonsong Pitisukrerk, marketing director for roof and accessories at SCG Cement-Building Materials Co Ltd.

And here's a tip for you guys: Never buy those transparent plastic colored roofing panels for a carport or small roof, it will get very hot underneath those..i regret having a carport with those, also they get fungus inside and won't last long.

 

For a carportroof you need the panels with alufoil underneath them or other material

So are products imported, manufactured in Thailand under a foreign license or will products be manufactured under a Thai patent? If not the last scenario, I don't see the importance of this announcement other than free advertising for SCG.
