Nattokinase And Berberine

Featured Replies

Where can one find berberine and/or nattokinase?

Lazada or is there a local shop?

I received fake supplements from Lazada once.

I will not buy supplements again from them.

I use iHerb. You need to pay duties, but I don't want to mess around with supplements.

Or maybe if you research the seller carefully on Lazada, you should be ok.

And local pharmacies may have Berberine, not sure. Try asking.

Although there are a lot of people online promoting Nattokinase, including doctors.

And many studies seem to show it works ..

I did come across one doctor who stopped giving it to her patients because of bleeding issues.

So I will not use Nattokinase.

Vitamin K2 may help reverse artery plaque.

And Kyolic Aged Garlic may as well.

Although Nattokinase may be more for reducing blood clots? Not sure ... and may be more powerful as a supplement, but there appears to be some risks associated with it.

In fact, one elderly woman appears to have died after taking Nattokinase.

I don't want to fear monger. Maybe it's safe for most people. There are still a lot of doctors recommending it. It seems similar to Aspirin. Some people still take it, but there is a risk of bleeding.

Thnx x repkying

I read about the potential bleeding sideeffects, mostly when natto and berbe are used combined.

So you suggest berberine only.

I will check lazada and local chemists.

Thnx

I have high BP.

Let s ignore after my mornibg coffee and when i ride to stiracha hospital, the first measure is shocking but after some relaxing it s lowering.

So i thought of using a supplement to see if by cleaning arteries i lower BP.

To be completely safe, as it may have bleeding issues, I suggest finding a cardiologist who knows something about it.

But there probably aren't many and you may not find one in Thailand.

Nattokinase is an enzyme (a serine protease, also called subtilisin NAT) originally extracted from natto, a traditional Japanese food made by fermenting boiled soybeans with the bacterium Bacillus subtilis var. natto (or Bacillus subtilis natto).

en.wikipedia.org

The bacterium produces the enzyme extracellularly as a byproduct of fermentation. It was first identified in 1987 by Japanese researcher Hiroyuki Sumi for its fibrinolytic (clot-dissolving) activity.

You can find Natto in "farang" stores like Rimping in Chiang Mai or stores carrying Japanese products.

Fyi - I like Japanese cuisine, but Natto. 🤮 <gag> Nasty tasting stuff.

Interesting. I never understood people not liking natto. I liked it from the very first time that I tasted it, and I have been eating it every day with my breakfast for the past few years. Just goes to show that people are different.

Does natto produce the same effects as nattokinase?

Nattokinase comes from natto.

Nattokinase in Natto

Yes, nattokinase is found in natto, which is a traditional Japanese dish.

What is Natto?

  • Ingredients: Natto is made from soybeans that are fermented with the bacterium Bacillus subtilis.

  • Fermentation Process: The soybeans are soaked, cooked, and then fermented, resulting in a sticky texture.

Benefits of Nattokinase

Nattokinase is known for several potential health benefits, including:

  • Preventing Blood Clots: It may help break down fibrin, a protein involved in blood clotting.

  • Lowering Blood Pressure: Some studies suggest it can reduce high blood pressure.

  • Heart Health: It may contribute to better heart and artery health.

Nattokinase is primarily obtained from natto, and it is also available as a dietary supplement.

Do not buy Berberine from Lazada.

I did and one time it worked. Then I received something completely else in capsules. The color was not correct and luckily I checked before eating it. It was grey powder with some yellow in it (Berberine is a little more coarse and completely yellow and easy to check). I photographed it, complained to Lazada and got my money back.

Nothing was done to the seller, still there.

Most of the supplements in Lazada are made in China. Even they claim is made in Canada or US. Easy to check who owns the label / brand and it leads to company or owner in China. Usually in photos they hide the manufacturer, manufacturing country (the vital info). Never know 100% where it is packaged and what is inside. Too big risk for me to take having a long experience in China.

However, Berberine works. Have compared my bloodtest results and had clear difference.

Berberine is for lowering blood sugar. Not for gut health.

This is pretty good but of course, take it as you wish. It's not medical advise. I do find his advise usually pretty spot on:
