Netizens are full of praise for a pork butcher after he saved the life of a Lao woman who tried to take her own life by jumping into a stream in Don Mot Daeng district of Ubon Ratchathani province on Oct 27.

On that day, while Anon Thatawat, a butcher from Ubon Ratchathani’s Lao Sua Kok district, was driving past a bridge across the Se Bok stream he saw the Lao woman in her 30s crying on the bridge railing.

He stopped his car to talk to the woman, but she kept crying. He call hotline 1669 for police and rescuers to help.  After about 20 minutes of talking, the woman jumped into the stream.

Mr Anon jumped into the strong currents and was able to save her.

I think this is the first time I have ever seen the word butcher in a headline about a positive story.

Well done that man.

A true hero.

A very good man. I wonder what treatment the woman received as she is already been sent back to Laos.

Leave it to a butcher to save the day!

He kept talking to the woman.
He was "chopsing" with her then.
(sorry for the peculiar English phrase there)
