4 weeks too long

Featured Replies

I have been in Pattaya now 4 weeks

It's becoming terrible, I'm sinking into a deep depression

I have changed hotel and Airbnb 7 times because I don't feel well

I tried my 4 weeks trial of living here I become bored

I started to go to a bar this last week where I drink alcohol,

The bar owner is very friendly, I went back and drank again , I promised myself I would go to the gym I didn't and went back again to drink

I felt so bad this morning

Pattaya is not for me

I went to see the doctor this morning, he told me he believes in bored as I have no routine , he

Isuggested I go back to Australia and only come here for maximum 2 weeks next time

He sees many farangs like myself

And he told me to stop drinking alcohol but I find the bar owner so friendly towards me

I will go back to Australia tommrrw

I don't think I could live here

It's boring ..I started to go to the bar to drink , I never do in Australia

I feel like a dark hole over me

Why spend four weeks there when traveling throughout the country is easy enough.

Prove it.

Go back to Australia and begin saving for your next trip to Pattaya in 6 months time

I also would not like to stay in Pattaya that long. I went there for 20 years nearly every week. I finally did something unthinkable and went to Kanchanaburi and later to Hua Hin and more south. I also I did long trips to western Isaan and the North. I never looked back to Pattaya.

There are other places in Thailand besides Pattaya, especially the islands. There is also Vietnam. Changing hotels in the same city isn't going to change anything. Visit the Hills Tribes in Chiang Mai, Kanchanaburi's war history.

My plan was to go to the gym everyday etc

Not sure what this depression is caused by, it's like a black period , it's hard to explain

Like even no sun out shining

I changed hotels but didn't really help

The doctor said to me this morning that he sees many farangs who move here and turn to alcohol

It seems I am ....I feel weak

The first 2 weeks were ok but now it's just walking

My energy had been zapped ,

Very dramatic, sir!

If only there was some way to research somewhere billed as a Paradise before coming there, so people wouldn't have to experience this same tragic fate...Hmmm 🤔

Hard to find a 90s Lonely Planet in a free library in a hostel anymore.

I need to get back to a routine

It's getting boring

The doctor was very nice but says because I never suffered depression before I should try staying off alcohol and go back to the gym and next time no 4 weeks

What is wrong with me ?

Why can't I live here full time and be happy ?

I tried....but it got boring , sad ,tedious and lonely

I don't have family or friends here

My friends died earlier this year he owned Canterbury tales bookshop

Dis anyone else feel like this staying long periods in Pattaya ?

If I had the 4 weeks again I would do it differently

I booked a. Airbnb for 4 weeks, same walls everyday

I had to get out and go to a hotel for awhile

I went to the bar with the friendly owner but alcohol is not my thing

Do you think it's the alcohol I drank over the last week making me feel like this ?

I haven't been eating good either

But then we all know you are posting your typical BS.

This is the real story in the post. How long has this dark hole been penetrating your soul ?

He "visits" for the dark hole pentration.

As I've said many times, Pattaya is, in my opinion, a better place to live year-round than to visit as a tourist. But, for tourists, there's plenty to see and do and certainly enough to keep a tourist entertained for a few weeks. And, new things are opening all the time. A few weeks ago my spouse and I visited the PADO Media Art Space, a new indoor tourist attraction with different large rooms with all sorts of light effects. Plenty to see in the Pattaya area besides bars.

You post that you are bored, can't find anything to do except go to a bar and drink. Perhaps, if that is the case, if you've seen everything you've wanted to see in Pattaya, done everything you've wanted to do, I suggest you find somewhere else to visit on your future vacations. Why keep coming back to a place again and again if you are now bored with it?

My spouse and I like to travel but we rarely go to a place more than once. For example, a few weeks ago we visited the Chongqing area of China, our fifth visit to that country. We enjoyed our visit to Chongqing but would we ever go back? Probably not. If we decide to visit China again sometime in the future, we will pick an area we haven't been to--and likely we will not be bored.

Go to Pattaya Hash House Harriers there maybe a couple of guys/gals who are near the edge. Maybe a conversation with you will convince them that their plan of jumping off their unfinished building at the bottom of the hill will seem like a better idea.

Your problem is you didn't drink enough. C'mon now don't be a quitter.

You should try diving.

NOT sky-diving!!!

Skin diving, of course.

Also, clamming.

Clamming is good.

Please elaborate without the use of metaphors.
