Tawan77
Yikes, they sure have a monopoly on the USM market! 4100THB one way at the end of January. Irksome when just about any other domestic flight in Thailand can be found for 1/4 that (including Bangkok-URT). Any experienced fliers have thoughts on whether there'll be an upcoming sale for flights to Samui for late Jan/early Feb, or other suggestions? Thanks! PoorSucker
Jan / Feb is high season, don't expect any sales. Check out Air Asia, they have a combo flight /bus /ferry ticket to Samui via URT and NST.
ethaniel
If you're a local (have a work permit here or a long-term rent contract for at least 12 previous months) - you can apply for a Bangkok Airways Residence Card. Flights 2000-2700 baht one way to/from BKK/Phuket.

NYGuy816
A cheaper option is to book the bus and ferry combo at FerrySamui. I've done this last year and all was good. I don't mind the travel time as paying for this combo for 800 THB during the high season is already very cheap. That is, if the 12-hour travel time is fine with you. Tawan77
Anyone know if having a Thai IP address affects pricing? I got the web-promo fare, but it's still 3500b one-way BKK-USM (not 1890 as posted above). May be my selected date of Jan 28. Other IP addresses then from Thailand will result in a faultmessage.

Normally it's 2750 during the day. Probably low season now so it's 2000 baht all day. But anyways, booking a cheap direct flight to Samui right before I get into the airport is bliss. Makes a considerable difference. Sale is for 27 Nov till End april so should not be the date.

I don't think it has to do with IP-address, as it reserved for Frequent Flyers (worldwide) first, and from 27th November available for anybody else, for a limited booking period... I think you, user "ethaniel", are correct with the 2750 baht for a fully priced ticket – seem like I was out that far in advance, that I probably got a "Resident"-discount on an early-booking price, as the full price for a day-flight BKK-USM was shown as around 3800 baht, and I only paid 2000 baht all inclusive... Normally, in high season, the 2000 baht price is available for super-early flights (like 7am). I would recommend asking the call center agent to advise you on the best time to fly.
