Clarification of "Reaction" emoticons requested

I notice in the limited selection of "reactions" one may have to a post that "Sad" is included among the choices. Would that be the classic usage of "sad", as in somber, or would it be the definition currently in vogue which is "what a dick you are for saying something like that"?  TIA for a clarification.

Yes, it would. The opposite of happy. It appears to be part of a newfangled set of emoticons, often integrated into forum software, not something from the current full emoji list of the Unicode Consortium.

Sad but relieved face  and Crying face  would be the the Unicode equivalents.
