DANANG, Nov, 11th 2017. Prime Minister of Thailand Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has had a bilateral discussion with Hong Kong's Carrie Lam on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).

The meeting took place at Furama Resort Danang in Vietnam. The two leaders discussed greater cooperation in various areas, especially trade and investment.

Hong Kong is ASEAN’s second and Thailand’s ninth biggest trading partner by value and is looking to establish a trade and economics office in Thailand.

Both parties hope that the establishment of such an office will boost trade and economic activity between the two sides.

Hong Kong has also expressed its interest in investing in the Eastern Economic Corridor or the eastern seaboard of Thailand which straddles the three provinces Chonburi, Rayong, and Chachoengsao.

The meeting also discussed cooperation on the development of SMEs, human development in the digital world, free trade, and environment protection.

Most of the hongs already know Thailand really well.  Not sure what Carrie hopes the Hong Kong government will do with SME's in Thailand.  Imagine she is answering to a higher power.

U build my trains & we will help make the South China Sea debacle go away

Looking more like a Prime Minister with every passing day . . . If Thailand isn't careful, this is what they'll get . . . ughh!

Actually, he is the Prime Minister, albeit an unelected  one. This is what they've got.

Carrie Lam was elected by pro Beijing elites.  That is probably going to be the future Thailand as well.  The only difference is that the Thai elites are far less smarter than those in China or Hong Kong.  Both prefer security over freedom.
