Government House demonstration against overpriced lottery tickets

Members of the Network of New Generation Youths Against Gambling and the People’s Network for Government Lottery Reform rallied outside Government House’s Public Service Centre in Bangkok on Tuesday to show support for the government’s efforts to solve the problem.

 

They said overpriced lottery tickets have been a long-standing problem in Thailand and contribute to people’s acceptance of corruption while making children and youths believe that cheating is normal.

 

They also urged the government to protect consumers’ rights and take serious action against the middlemen or those causing overpriced lottery tickets by issuing harsher punishments.
