Ban Laem / Cambodia Bus

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to get to Ban Laem from Bangkok for a 30day visa run.... not too interested in going there and back the same day with a tour service.

Are there daily mini(buses) leaving Mo Chit station to the border?

Thanks

There should be direct mini-buses from one or more of the bus stations, but I have not heard confirmation of which one(s).

By full-size bus, you can go to Chanthaburi, then catch a mini-buse leaving from the market behind Robinsons to Ban Laem - directly to the border.

If there were to be a direct minibus, it would likely be from Ekamai. I did research this question at Ekamai about two years ago, and everyone said going via Chanthaburi was the only option. I also checked when at Ban Laem whether there were other options for the return than going via Chanthaburi and was told no. It might have changed since, or maybe the casino there has a bus (that, I did not check) but most likely the indirect route (which is not too bad, by the way) is the only option.

I used a direct mini-van back to Pattaya a couple times.  After you re-enter Thailand, there is an area where many mini-buses and agents selling tickets are present.  They asked where I was going, then I was directed to a Pattaya-bound mini-bus.

I would bet there are some there headed to Bangkok and other areas, since they primarily service Cambodian workers who work all over.  I could find nothing on the Internet about these routes (likely in Khmer only), so he could probably find one for the return-trip, then get a business-card for the bus-service for future trips.
