Supreme Court picks Chatchai as new election commissioner

 

 

The Assembly of the Supreme Court judges has voted to select Mr Chatchai Chanpraisri to be a member of the 7-member Election Commission.

 

Supreme Court President Cheep Jullamon disclosed yesterday (Nov 17) that Mr Chatchai who is a chief judge in the Supreme Court was selected as a member of the Election Commission by the assembly of 176 judges.

 

He said Mr Chatchai received more than half of the votes and therefore was selected to be an EC member.

Replacing a Captain Kidd with a Henry Morgan doesn't change the nature of the ship and its crew.

And so the incestuous circle of appointments continues......without democracy, this place is doomed.

"However, Mr Chatchai was only candidate who are qualified for the position, therefore, the Supreme Court has to begin the selection procedure again to invite candidates for the remaining position."

 

The only man in all of Thailand that qualifies ?   Those must be some pretty steep qualifications.  Would think that being able to walk and chew gum at the same time would have been enough. 

Election Commissioner eh?
