A 22-year-old man was arrested with 10.3 million “yaba” pills in Samut Prakan’s Bang Phli district, national police chief General Chakthip Chaijinda told a press conference on Tuesday.

Pongsakorn Phraworn was arrested earlier on Tuesday and the drugs seized at his home in Tambon Bang Kaew.

The arrest happened after the Metropolitan Police Area 8 determined that Pongsakorn was a major drug dealer who allegedly had been storing the narcotics for later distribution.

Photos here Photos there, is this the highlight of the day for some, ok they nicked a scum druggie which is great, but why so many in the photo when there are more scum druggies out there to catch, go and do some work that is what you are paid for

But still.. 10,3 million (10.300.000!!) pills.. Thats way more than you can count to in a lifetime.. That is worth something to get off the streets yeah? That is a huge catch even around here..

But it only takes one to tell the story which is great news, let the others get on with finding the next 10 million. That photo shoot took a whole day, so look at the man hours lost in fighting crime.

I think we agree on the basics here.. That it should be taken off the streets.. (Even though that is an impossible task, as things are).. But with the amount of coppers in this country, I really dont think this handful of them makes a difference, if they use a day for this or not..

I think that should read, been storing them for someone else.

Yes one would think very very few 22 yr olds are in that position alone with that quantity, oddly, lol, you rarely hear of others being sought or caught..

That amount cuts down on crime

With  huge drugs bust, you can expect the top Police to be there .

The Police in the photo are probably the top Police who stay in the Police station, organizing the crime fighters on the street

The photo only probably took a few minutes anyway, but rest assured, there will be other crime fighters on the street, looking for the next bust

10 million pills off the street .

Several billion more stored in Thailand waiting to be moved to supply demand .  Until Myanmar and Thailand negotiate with the Shan State to shut down the labs , the pills will continue to flow .

It takes a lot of money to supply a rebel insurgency .

Always assuming that it is " off the streets".

Do you not think the photo is to show they are doing their work. Major drug busts world wide are always presented to the media. 10 mil pills is indeed a major bust.

how is it even possible to find a negative in this story?

Far smarter to tax it and make money off it than to waste billions of baht yearly on government resources.
