Search for businesses in DBD, SME databases by parameters

Recommended Posts

The problem is that the DBD doesn't list businesses with that type of granularity. Quite the opposite in fact.

Businesses list their objectives, and they generally stay with the standard 20 something clauses that cover almost everything. They then add 1 or 2 clauses on the end of their list of objectives to specifically cover their main activities.

However these additional clauses are normally worded as broadly as possible to allow the business to grow without restriction.

It's highly unlikely an objective would specify just dogs. It would say animal grooming, welfare, veterinary, and ancillary services - just as an example.

Finally, many small businesses are not limited companies and the DBD would not hold their details anyway.
