The Central Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases today (Nov 25) issued warrant for Pol Col Chairit Anurit after he failed to turn himself up to the police for acknowledgement of charge.

Pol Col Chairit, former deputy commander of the Metropolitan Police Bureau’s Division 5faces negligence of duty charge under Article 157 of the Criminal Code for his role in assisting in the escape of former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.

Pol Col Chairit earlier admitted to be the driver who drove Yingluck to the border on Aug 23 in the escape bid.

Me think he's now in the wind making a beeline for an asylum in the

UK, using one of his 4 or so passports no doubts....

Poor fella.

Laughing all the way to the (English) bank.

Where did send the warrant? He hasn't turned up in quite a while, his whereabouts are far more interesting than what formal proceedings are initiated.

uhm, did y'all lose another one? Just asking..., is it OK to ask? Is that an omelet on your face?

You know, at some point, even thais might catch the foolishness in this 'option' !

self assigned inactive post

Will he be tried in absentia?

No, unless being a police officer constitutes a political office holder :)

Or unless Article 44 is used - depends how angry Prayut is with embarrassment of Yingluck's "escape." Prayut hasn't been above using Article 44 for his personal vendettas - "I do what I want."

Time almost always reveals the money trail of corruption if their is any. Maybe so Maybe no.

Maybe yes, or maybe will now be ignored by the 'financier', as has happened several times before.

Could have arrested and detained him originally. Didn't.

Could have taken his passport. Didn't.

Could have placed an Immigration alert for him -- should he attempt to leave the country. Probably didn't.

And then should anyone be surprised when, somehow, he fails to show up for his legal summons???

Amazing!!!!  If they really wanted him, they could have kept him. But then again, they almost never KEEP anyone here, except foreigners, when they're in legal trouble.
