On a related note, can anyone point to a website detailing all the Thai abbreviations, particularly those used in the daily papers. Govt depts and agencies really catch me out.

most half decent thai / english dictionaries have a section at the back with that kind of info.....

...... well they have the FULL names of the gov. depts etc and army / police ranks but its not too hard to match the abbreviations to them.
